On the other hand , our government has listened to the representations of a Sicilian , who maintains that from the appearance of a certain herb found growing in the island of Gozo , indicative ofthe presence of sulphur , there must be considerable veins of that substance to be found there , and in consequence some excavations and boring are going on in that directionalso under authority .
