SPALDING . —Hundred of Elloe Lodge ( No . 4 69 ) . —Thursday , the 9 th inst ., was a " high day " with the brethren connected with this lotlge , the annual festival of St . John being celebrated on that day . At 2 . 30 business commenced , and the labours of the day were protracted until half-past six in the evening . Thc ceremonies of "raising" ami " installation " we re performed

by the W . M ., Bro . G . F . Barrel ! , in a manner seldom witnessed in a provincial lodge—indeed , the D . G . M . of Lincolnshire , who was present , testified his untjualilie-il admiration at the manner in which these onerous crcmonies had becn carried through . Necessarily impressive anil solemn , they were- performed with the must perfect gootl taste , and elicited Ihe universal congratulations

of the brethren . Bro . Woodrow , P . M ., also performed the ceremony of initiation in his customary sble manner . Bro . Bonner , P . M ., having been duly installed into the chair , briefly addressed the brethren , thanking them for the honour they hail confeirctl upon him , and testifying his intention to carry out the dulits of his office lo the best of his ability , lie then appointed the following oilicers : —Bros .

Alter the banquet Ihe usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given and duly acknowledged , some very useful and interesting conversation took place , wliich obviously cannot be recorded heie , and several brethren enlivened the evening with songs and recitations . Bro . Cammack and Dr . Wood ably presided at toe piano . We cannot refrain from noting the splcmtiel way in which Bro . Hayes rendeietl those exquisite songs "M . iid of Athens , "

and the " Blue Alsatian Mountains , " while Bros . Abbott and Woodrow's truly Masonic songs " siruck home " to every one present . Bro . Hatt aU-. i took put in the harmony , and Bro . Symes gave a recitation on "The Patience nf Job , " wilh admirable effect , and after a most pleasant evening thc brethren retired , well pleased with each other and the treat they hail enjoyed . We understand tllat thc Piovincial Grand Lodge ol Lincolnshire will be held at Spalding early in the summer of this year .
