YORK . — Eboracum Lodge ( No . 1611 ) . — An emergency meeting of this lodge was held on Monday last at York , Bro . Geo . Simpson , W . AI ., in thc chair . 'The business consisted of an initiation and a passing , thc ceremonies being very well performed , the officers showing themselves remarkably exact and proficient in the details of the working .
After the close of the lodge there was the usual pleasant festive gathering around the table , when song and speech passed away a happy evening . 'The VV . AI . was congratulated on his improved health , and his good working , and he thanked his officers very cordially for their warm
support . Replying to the toast of " The Past Masters , " Bro . T . B . Whytehead made a few remarks on the progress of the present Alasonic system , and its charities , and reviewed the career of the Eboracum Lodge , whose fame was probably as wide spread as most lodges in the provinces , and whose efforts in the cause of the Charities had been second to none .

SINCERITY LODGE ( No . 174 ) . —A regular meeting of the above lodge was held on the 27 th ult . at the Three Nuns Hotel , Aldgate , E . C , where , as we announced last week , the lodge has , after many vicissitudes , taken up its abode . was next read and adopted . Bro . Vallentine was interrogated and entrusted , and lodge was advanced . The ceremony of passing was then worked , Bro . Vallentine being the candidate . Lodge was closed down , and Bro . Jones , P . AL , duly elected VV . AI . for the ensuing lodge meeting . Bro . Vallentine , 1017 , was admitted a member ; and " Hearty good wishes " having been given , lodge was closed and adjoured until the 3 rd inst .
The lodge is to be congratulated upon its choice of a meeting-place , and with thc capital assistance rendered by the Past Alasters of the mother lodge , and thc able teaching of Bro . Webb , P . M ., there can be little doubt of its future success . It has already been arranged to hold the annual supper of the lodge of instruction and the City Alasonic Benevolent Association at tl-. e 'Three Nuns ilotel
on Alonday , the 17 th inst ., upon which occasion Bro . F . Brown , VV . M . 174 , will preside . The brethien have also arranged to work the Fifteen Sections in the lodge , Bro . G . H . Stephens having been invited to preside . These events , which will doubtless attract the members of the Craft to the lodge of instruction , will , we trust , greatly assist in consolidating its fortunes .
UNITED PILGRIMS' LODGE ( No . . 507 ) . — At the meeting of this loihge , at the Surrey Alasonic Hall , Camberwell , on Friday evening , the 24 th ult ., there was a goodly attendance of brethren . Bro . E . Frances opened the lodge , and was supported by Bros . A . Bute , as S . VV . ; Perks , J . W . ; Plant Alartin , S . D . ; Thurston , J . D . ; Williams , I . G . ; J . S . _ The First Section , the ceremony of initiation , and the Fourth Section were carefully worked , and subsequently a discussion on , and explanation of , several points of ritual ensued . This arrangement of "question time" was evidently highly appreciated , and earnestly availed of , by the members and visitors , and several poinis of divergence from uniform working were . settled for the future practice of this
lod ge of instruction . It was announced that at the meeting on Friday , the 31 st ult ., Bro . VV . VV . Alorgan , Secretary 211 , would occupy " question time" by delivering a lecture on "The Alasonic Institutions : their establishment and development ; " arid the brethren generally were invited to prepare short essays on Alasonic subjects for
delivery on future occasions . The lodge was closed , af'er a most agreeable and instructive evening . The Hon . Preceptor , Bro . James Stevens , is appointed to preside at thc ensuing meeting , when it is anticipated that the lecturer ( Bro . Alorgan ) will be received by a large gathering ° f South London F ' reemasons .
