The Tyler ' s toast then concluded the proceedings , which were most enjoyable , the hospitality of the brethren of Romford being unbounded , while some capital singing and reciting gave a rare fillip to the pleasures of the day .

The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and after the usual preliminaries , the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Davies being the candidate . The W . M . gave the lecture on the tracing board . Bros . Crossingham and Milne were instructed in the questions leading to the Third Degree .

The W . M ., assisted by the brethren , worked the 2 nd Section of the Lecture , and after the lodge had been closed in the Second Degree , the 2 nd Section of the First Lecture was worked , also assisted by the brethren . Bro . Ginder was elected a member , and acknowledged the compliment . Bro . Gellion was unanimously elected W . M . for the next

meeting—the officers to be in rotation . The brethren were invited to attend at the working of the Fifteen Sections at the Chiswick Lodge of Instruction , at the Windsor Castle , King-street , Hammersmith , on the nth inst ., Bro . J . Sims in the chair . After " Hearty good wishes , " the lodge was closed .

Hambly , and carried unanimously , the brother to be appointed this day fortnight . Nothing further offering fot the good of Freemasonry , the lodge was closed .

" I am desired b y the Duke of Connaught , in reply to your letter , to acquaint you that it will give his Royal Highness great pleasure to take the chair at the annual Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls in May next year . "' I am yours very truly , "ALFRED EGERTON . "

THE LONDON AND NORTH-WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY . The London and North-Western Railway Company announce that commencing on Monday , July Sth , Luncheon and Dining Cars will be attached to the following trains between London and Glasgow for the accommodation of
