The Anniversary Festivals of our Institutions have been slightl y more productive than in IS !) - ! -, while Provincial and lodge charities have received at least an equal
measure or support and m some few cases mere than has fallen lo their lot , in past years . The reports which have been presented at , the meetings of our Provincial ( irand Lodges and Cliaplers have been
for the most part satisfactory : nor arc lhe losses we have sustained more numerous than usitil . though it must he confessed that some amongst them came very unexpectedl y and have been proportionatel y vei v grievous to bear . Still we have reason to be thankful for the
good loi'lune that lias attended our proceedings , and we can onl y express the hope ( hat in future years we may find equal cause for congratulation .

Our readers are aware that we are not in lhe habit of attaching undue importance to mere numerical increase , and in ordinary circumstances we should lay no very great stress on ( he fact that the number of lodges for which his Royal Highness lhe M . W . ( I . -Master has been pleased to grant warrants since lhe Quarterl y Communication of Grand Lodge in December . ISO- ' , is greater than
in the corresponding periods of the two preceding years . Happily a goodl y proportion of the lodges thus warranted have alread y furnished evidence of their usefulness , and there are fairgrounds Cor believing that all of them will in time become valuable additions to the , Grand bodge of which they are now the newest constituent parts .
