" The Masonic Institutions , their establishment and development , " which proved to be of very great interest , full of historical and statistical information , which to nearly all present had the charm of novelty , and made them acquainted with particulars which should certainly be known to all who profess interest in the charitable works of the Order , and desire to learn the most efficient mode of

carrying their professions into practice . A hearty vote oi thanks was accorded to Bro . Morgan , and on the proposition of the W . M . he was unanimously elected an honorary member . In thanking the brethren , Bro . Morgan expressed his willingness to assist in carrying out the arrangements lately made by this lodge of instruction by now and then delivering an essay on Masonic subjects during " question

time . " Bro . Bate was elected W . M . for thc ensuing fortnight ( there will be no meeting on Good Friday ) and , having appointed his officers , notified that the work of the evening would be the First Section , the ceremonies of initiation and passing , and the charge ( by Bro . F . B . Sarjeant ) during " question time . " Lodge was closed in due form .

TREDEGAR LODGE ( No . 1625 ) . —A capital muster of brethren took place on Monday last at Bro . A . Yates ' s , Royal Hotel , Mile End-road , E . The brethren had been summoned together for the purpose of witnessing Bro . T . J . Barnes , P . M . 554 and 933 , perform the ceremony of installation , and from the well-known ability of Bro . Barnes to work and teach the ritual great interest attached to the

Bro . Stewart having read thc minutes of the previous lodge meeting , the ;; were unanimously confirmed . Lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and Bro . Barnes proceeded with tbe ceremony of tbe evening . Bro . Wooding , being VV . M . elect , was obligated after the usual preliminaries , and the brethren below the Degree of Installed Master retired . On their return the newly-installed

Master was saluted in ancient form according to Degree . Bro . T . Wooding next proceeded to invest his officers , which duty he performed very ably , and will shortly be called upon to do in his own lodge . Bro . Barnes then concluded his labours by a careful and instructive rendering of the ancient charges to the Master , the Wardens , and the brethren , all of which were listened to with wrapt attention

hy the brethren assembled , a large number of whom by their rank being tjualilied to judge of the excellency of the working . On sitting down Bro . admirably served by Comp . Clemow and assistants . Upon the cloth being cleared , the customary toasts were duly proposed and loyally honoured . Comp . H . Buss acknowledged "The Health of the Grand Officers " in a well-set speech . The toast of "The M . li . ' -., " was proposed in flattering terms by the I . P . Z . Comp . Briggs having replied , then gave " Thc Past

Principals , coupled with the name of Comp . Lawrence , and to whom he presented the jewel voted to him as Immediate Past Principal at the last meeting . Comp . Lawrence having briefl y acknowledged the compliment and thc handsome gift which accompanied it , "The Health of thc Installing Ollicer " followed .

Comp . W . Stevens having replied , the pledge of " The Visitors" was warmly proposed , and drunk with acclamation . Comps . Walls , VV . Stiles , Sadler , and Hopwood having responded , "The Health of the Treasurerand S . E . " came next in order .

'The April number includes , the particulars of a scheme for localising the movement , by the establishment of public or private " social parliaments" in our towns and villages , for the purpose of continuing the debates on subjects initiated in the " Family Parliament . " From each local assembly the resolutions may be forwarded to head-quarters together with the voting papers supplied , and the result recorded permanently in the pages of the magazine .

A further novel development of "The Family Parliament" in Cassel I ' s Magazine is announced . 'The April number includes , the particulars of a scheme for localising the movement , by the establishment of public or private " social parliaments" in our towns and villages , for the purpose of continuing the debates on subjects initiated in the " Family Parliament . " From each local assembly the resolutions may be forwarded to head-quarters together with the voting papers supplied , and the result recorded permanently in the pages of the magazine .
