Benedetti said that the Prince of Wales was equally beloved on the Continent as in this country . Comp . Crook , I . P . Z ., proposed" The M . E . Z ., " speaking

of his work . Comp . Benedetti , M . E . Z ., spoke of what he intended to do during the year . The M . E . Z . proposed "The Visitors , " and each present suitably responded . Each had been there before , and trusted to come many more times . In response to"The P . Z . ' s , " Comps . Major Williams ,

sen ., and Crook made very short speeches , Comp . Williams being particularly happy in his well-chosen remarks . Comp . Fleck , H ., promised to try to be a credit to the chapter . Comp . North , J ., said that he was thankful the G . A . O . T . U . had for the third time spared his life , as he recently had a narrow escape in a railway accident . He

also referred to his work" Wisdom , Strength , and Beauty , " which had been so well received by Masons in all parts of the world . The officers all responded , and a happy evening was closed . Songs were given by Comps . Stone , North , Powell , and others .

Grand Superintendent . On the motion of Comp . J . S . Webb , P . Z ., and S . R . Baskett , Z ., the following resolution was unanimously adopted : "That this Royal Arch Chapter , St . Mary's , No . 707 , desires to express its sincerest sympathy with Comp . J . M . P . Montagu on his

illness , and regret at his retiring from his position as Grand Superintendent of Dorset , and to tender its hearty thanks to him for his unvarying kindness and fraternal consideration to the chapter , and trusts he may long be spared to enjoy better health , and to visit the chapter . " The chapter was then closed .

P . Slingsby Roberts for "The Provincial Grand Officers , Present and Past . " Bro . R . Willard , in proposing " The Worshipful Master , " said he had experienced the pleasure of working with Bro .

Lamette in several Degrees of Masonry for the past nine years , and never met a more enthusiastic Mason . He could not speak too highly of him , and was convinced that he would prove one of the best W . M . 's it was possible for the lodge to have . Bro . Lamette , on rising to respond , was very warmly received . He thanked Bro . Willard for the very kind

manner in which he had spoken of him . All his duties in Masonry were to him , he said , a labour of love . It gave him the greatest possible pleasure to attend to the duties of the various Degrees with which he was associated , and as long as he lived he would continue his devotion to Masonry . He would especially do his utmost to faithfully discharge his duties as W . M . during the coming year . He then

proposed "The Past Masters of the Lodge , " to which Bro . R . Willard responded . The VV . M . next gave "The Worshipful Masters of the Mark Lodges of the Province of Sussex , " which received acknowledgments from Bros . Duke and Lewis . " Ihe Visiting Brethren , " submitted by the VV . He could not speak too highly of him , and was convinced that he would prove one of the best W . M . 's it was possible for the lodge to have . Bro . Lamette , on rising to respond , was very warmly received . He thanked Bro . Willard for the very kind

manner in which he had spoken of him . All his duties in Masonry were to him , he said , a labour of love . It gave him the greatest possible pleasure to attend to the duties of the various Degrees with which he was associated , and as long as he lived he would continue his devotion to Masonry . He would especially do his utmost to faithfully discharge his duties as W . M . during the coming year . He then
