THE BOLIN ' GBROKE LODGE . —The promoters of the Bolingbroke Lodge , for which a warrant has been granted , have had a somewhat unpleasant experience in connection vvith the place of meeting originally fixed on . It appears that negotiations for purchasing the building were entered into with the proprietor of the hall , who is also the proprietor of a club meeting in the same building , the existence

of which he vvas desirous of terminating in favour of the Masonic body . This arrangement coming to the knowledge of the club members , strong objections were made , and obstacles placed in the way of a settlement , the latest development being a much-advertised boxing-match , which came off with great eclat a short time since . To avoid any suspicion o * being even remotely connected vvith such

disrepuable proceedings , and being unable to compel the owner to fulfil his engagement , th- * . petitioners have wisely decided to occupy entirely different premises , although they will retain the name of the lodge , which is an historic one in the locality . The consecration well , therefore , take place at Stmley Hall , Cairns-road , Clapham Junction , on the Gth of January .
