Brierley , to whom , during the evening , a Past Master ' s jewel , bearing a suitable inscription , was presented , in token of the great appreciation of the brethren of the lodge for his work and worth . Ccmmiltce of six of the brethren be appointed to prepare and bring up the ad liess at the next meeting of the lodge ; that a sum of £ . 5 out of the funds of the lodge be granted towards the expenses of preparing such an address . The banquet was held in the large conceit hall of the tavern , and gave every satisfaction . Upon thc removal of the cloth , the customary toasts received full justice . In proposing " The Health of the W . M ., " the I . P . M . expressed a hope that the W . M . ' s year of office would be as prosperous as his own had been . In a large lod ge like the Kennington it was a difficult matter to please every one , but Bro . Colwell possessed tact and geniality , and no dou ' it would bo equal to any occasion .
The VV . M . having replied , gave "The Visitors , " and expressed a hope that their visit had been in every way a pleasant one . This toast was responded to by Bros . E . Attenborough , VV . M . 14 j T . Brown , P . M . 1597 , P . P . G . D . ; 11 . Keep , P . M . 14 ; and j . A . Davies , P . M . 2022 . In giving "The Past Masters " the VVorshipful Mister paid a high compliment to
the I . P . M ., who had discharged all the duties of his olh : e in an excellent way . He ( the W . M . ) felt very diffident in following so good a Mason . The Past Masters were a great power in No . 13 S 1 , and he wa ; gratified in seeing so many of them present that evening . He coupled the toast with the nam ; of Bro . Dr . Millsom , I . P . M ., but would like all of them to say a few words in response .
In compliance with the Worshiplul Master s desire the Past Masters respectivel y replied . The Worshipful Master then gave " The Masonic Charities . " In introducing this toast he said that as he represented the lodge as its Steward for the R . M . I , for Boys , he should have lilted the excellent Secretary of that Institution to have been present . However , Bro . McLeod was prevented at the last minute from atterdiner the lodge that evening to speak for the Charities , and in looking round among the Past Masters hc had come to the conclusion that Bro . Capt . Walls would be a good substitute for Bro . McLeod , and therefore he should couple his name with the toast .
The toast having been received with great warmth , was duly acknowledged by the brother mentioned . Thc next toa ^ t , "The Treasurer and Secretary , " gave the VVorshipful Master an opportunity of paying a tribute of respect to the late holders of these offices . Bros . G . Everett and VV . Stuart . He said that they all regretted that failing health had compelled both those worthy brethren to retire from the positions which they had so long and honourably filled . The first-namr-d brother ' s retirement was a severe blow to the lodge . However , the lodge had two excellent brethren to fill the vacancies , iti the persons of Bros . La Feuillade and Hearn .
Those brethren having replied , the toast of "The Officers" terminated the proceedings , which were throughout very successful . During the evening an excellent programme of music was carried out , under the management of Bro . VV . Wright , P . P . G . O . I he other artistes were Mesdames Phyllis Hope , Theresa Kellaway , Bros . R . Evans , O . Sharpley , Tom Davies , and Mr . Bert Hope . The " Elite Concert Party " gave unqualified satisfaction .

After the lodge was closed , a banquet was held at the Old Hall Hotel . Unfortunately , the newly-installed VV . M ., being only just convalescent after a very severe illness , was nqt able to preside , but his place was filled by Uro . Brierley , to whom , during the evening , a Past Master ' s jewel , bearing a suitable inscription , was presented , in token of the great appreciation of the brethren of the lodge for his work and worth . Bro . McLeod , Sec . K . M . I , for Boys , made an eloquent statement of the position and prospects of that and the other Charitable Institutions connected with the Craft . Bros . G . H . Gregory , Dumville , and others added much to the harmony of a most successful meeting .

George liverett , marking in suitable terms the affection and esteem of the brethren , and their appreciation of the valuable services rendered to the lodge during his long Treasurership ; that a
Ccmmiltce of six of the brethren be appointed to prepare and bring up the ad liess at the next meeting of the lodge ; that a sum of £ . 5 out of the funds of the lodge be granted towards the expenses of preparing such an address . " Uro . Captain Walls moved an amendment— " That £ 10 be substituted fur £ 5 , " whioh was seconded by Bro . II . Higgins , and carried unanimously . The Committee elected were Bros . be made of Bro . Everett ' s great services to the lodge as a founder and Treasurer . The lodge was then closed . The banquet was held in the large conceit hall of the tavern , and gave every satisfaction . Upon thc removal of the cloth , the customary toasts received full justice . In proposing " The Health of the W . M ., " the I . P . M . expressed a hope that the W . M . ' s year of office would be as prosperous as his own had been . In a large lod ge like the Kennington it was a difficult matter to please every one , but Bro . Colwell possessed tact and geniality , and no dou ' it would bo equal to any occasion .
The VV . M . having replied , gave "The Visitors , " and expressed a hope that their visit had been in every way a pleasant one . This toast was responded to by Bros . E . Attenborough , VV . M . 14 j T . Brown , P . M . 1597 , P . P . G . D . ; 11 . Keep , P . M . 14 ; and j . A . Davies , P . M . 2022 . In giving "The Past Masters " the VVorshipful Mister paid a high compliment to
the I . P . M ., who had discharged all the duties of his olh : e in an excellent way . He ( the W . M . ) felt very diffident in following so good a Mason . The Past Masters were a great power in No . 13 S 1 , and he wa ; gratified in seeing so many of them present that evening . He coupled the toast with the nam ; of Bro . Dr . Millsom , I . P . M ., but would like all of them to say a few words in response .
In compliance with the Worshiplul Master s desire the Past Masters respectivel y replied . The Worshipful Master then gave " The Masonic Charities . " In introducing this toast he said that as he represented the lodge as its Steward for the R . M . I , for Boys , he should have lilted the excellent Secretary of that Institution to have been present . However , Bro . McLeod was prevented at the last minute from atterdiner the lodge that evening to speak for the Charities , and in looking round among the Past Masters hc had come to the conclusion that Bro . Capt . Walls would be a good substitute for Bro . McLeod , and therefore he should couple his name with the toast .
The toast having been received with great warmth , was duly acknowledged by the brother mentioned . Thc next toa ^ t , "The Treasurer and Secretary , " gave the VVorshipful Master an opportunity of paying a tribute of respect to the late holders of these offices . Bros . G . Everett and VV . Stuart . He said that they all regretted that failing health had compelled both those worthy brethren to retire from the positions which they had so long and honourably filled . The first-namr-d brother ' s retirement was a severe blow to the lodge . However , the lodge had two excellent brethren to fill the vacancies , iti the persons of Bros . La Feuillade and Hearn .
Those brethren having replied , the toast of "The Officers" terminated the proceedings , which were throughout very successful . During the evening an excellent programme of music was carried out , under the management of Bro . VV . Wright , P . P . G . O . I he other artistes were Mesdames Phyllis Hope , Theresa Kellaway , Bros . R . Evans , O . Sharpley , Tom Davies , and Mr . Bert Hope . The " Elite Concert Party " gave unqualified satisfaction .

Letters expressing regret for inability to attend were read from several brethren .
The business of the lodge ended , the brethren adjourned to a recherche banquet , which was mest highly appreciated . The cloth removed , the VV . M . gave the toast of " The Queen and the Craft" i " most loyal and sympathetic terms , remarking that the heart ? of hcr people , and par ' ticulary Masons , were moved towards her and her beloved daughter in their great bereavctnent .
