ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF THE GRAND MASTER'S MARK LODGE OF INSTRUCTION .

The 12 th annual festival of the Grand Master's Lodge of Instruction for Mark Master Masons was held on Wednesday evening at Mark Masons' Hall , Great Queen-street , W . C , when a very large number of Mark brethren assembled to witness the working nf the Degree prior to banqueting together . Besides the brethren who took part in the working of the ceremony of advancement there

were present Bros , the Earl ' of Euston , Pro G . M . ; Gordon Miller , P . G . Treas . ; Ramsay , P . G . D . ; Sir Simeon H . L . Stuart , W . M . 47 6 ; Powell , Bevan , Dr . Cooper , W . M . The ceremony was the Degree of advancement , and Bro . W . S . Penley ( "Charley ' s Aunt" ) was the candidate . All the work was beautifully performed , and at the conclusion of the ceremony Bro . When it had been disposed of , the customary toasts were briefly given , it being announced at the beginning that they were all to be short .

After Bro . MATIER had proposed "The M . W . Bro . SIR SIMEON STUART proposed "The Deputy Grand Master , Viscourt Dungarvan , and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " and called upon Bro . To the Grand Officers it was an immense gratification to witness such a large number of brethren following the example ofthe Pro Grand Master , and the Deputy Grand Master , that was saying something very important .

Bro . GORDON MILLER , P . G . Treas ., acknowledg ing the toast , said it was a special privilege to have been able to hear the ceremonies performed so perfectly . Thc style was perfectly free from that stiffness which sometimes characterised thc working of Masonic ceremonies . Thc work that evening had been extremely entertaining , and he was much impres ; ed with the candidate . The candidate was the principal character in a play which was " still running .
