M ., proposed " The Queen and the Craft , " eulogising the Oueen Bs a mother , a woman , and a queen .
# Bro . Langdon , W . M ., proposed "H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , M . W . G . M ., " in felicitous terms , In proposing "The Grand Officers , " the W . M . spoke of their work for the Order and for its Charities , He described the impressive work of Grand Lodge , and of the Grand Officers who were members of this lodge . Bro . G . Everett , P . G . Treas ., thanked the brethren for the very cordial way in Which the toast had been received . It was always gratifying to the Grand Officers to
know how much their work was appreciated . He was disposed to agree with the W . M . In his description of the meetings at Grand Lodge , and was glad to say that they were useful , as well as ornamental . They had all done good suit and service for the Charities . He was glad to congratulate the out-going and the in-coming Masters . Both were Itealous for the best interests of Masonry , and it had been a great treat to be present and hear the ritual so ably and impressively rendered . Bro . Harvey , I . P . M ., proposed " The W . M ., " and said that it required few words
from him to describe the W . M . to those present . From the very inception of the lodge he had been one of its most zealous workers , and it was a great pleasure to congratulate him upon his present proud position . Bro . John Langdon , VV . M ., thanked the brethren for the ovation with which his name had been received . From the day he first became a Mason he had been proud of the fact , but nothing could describe his pleasure at his present position . He should aim during his year of office at miking all happy , and should be ready to go out of his way
to secure that happiness . If the brethren gave him work to do , he was ready and willing to do it , and trusted that at the end of the year the lodge would not only be in as good , but in a better position than now . The W . M . proposed "The Installing Mister , " and said that Bro . Harvey ' s good qualities were now well known to all the brethren . In both public and private life , he was equally respected . As a personal friend , he highly esteemed him , and the way in which the "inside" working had been done wis more grand than he could have
contemplated . On behalf of the brethren , he ask ; d Bro . Hirvey to accept a Past Master's jewel of the usual lodge pattern , which had , been fully earned , and he trusted it would long be worn . Bro . A . Harvey , I . P . M ., returned thanks . He had done his best in every office he had held , and was glad that the year had been such a successful one . He should ever be proud of the handsome jewel . The Worshipful Master proposed " The Visitors , ' referring to the services of each , and thanked them for their presence on that occasion .
Bro . Samuel Rashleigh , W . M 903 , said he did not Vcnow why he had been honoured by being selected to reply . Or cou'ss . b-ine a former member and a founder of the lodge , he was proud of its success . H- ; was glad to be present , and hoped the brethren would rally round the W . M . as the members of his lodgn had around him , then he would indeed have a good year of office . He trusted that miny good , true , and trusty mjn would bf initiited during the coming year .
Bro . N . T . Murche , W . M . 2513 , as a "fossil , " had been glad to see how ably Bro . Harvey had performed his work . 1 'hat wis not his first , and he trusted would not be his last visit . Bro . Hon . J . McCarthy , P . M . 1955 , said that it was some years since he paid his first visit to this lodge , and ihen , as now , he was toe W . M . ' s guest . Consequently it was a very great pleasure for him to see his success , and to notice the financial position
of the lodge . He was a Past Master , having been the first Master of the rreetown Lodge , and in his visits to this country he took great interest in Masonry and in comparing workings ; he felt they would be pleased to hear that the working of that lodge was exactly like that of his own in the so-called " dark " continent . He , therefore , felt fully at home . What impressed him most of all in Masonry was ita universal brotherhood and deep morality .
Bro . T , Higerty , 106 , considered that Masonry was a grand , great , and noble Order . His own experience was probably unprecedented . He had been made a Mason at 75 years of age hy his own son , in Lodge iofi , at Exm outh , of which his father had been a founder 100 years ago , consequently he was very piroud and happy to belong to that grand and honourable Order .

Folkard , Sec , was as good a Secretary as could posiibly be obtained anywhere . No one could have surpassed his w > rk in the past year . Bro . S ' eele , Treas ., had tried to do his best , and his annual re-election showsd that they appreciated his efforts . Bro . J . W . Folkard , Sec ., considered that the lodge was to b ? congratulated uoon its position . It was a great pleasure to note there was not a single " arrear " —a condition , he trusted , might continue .

M ., assisted by Bro . Farthing , P . M ., who acted as D . C , and delivered the last two addresses . The following brethren were appointed to office : Bros . VV . B . Fendick , P . M ., S . W . T . Farthing , P . M ., D . C . ; H . Wilson , A . D . C ; F . Swinford , Org . ; and Cooke , Tyler . Messrs . L . Tracy , H . Sanders , C E . Vaughan , and J . R . Harris were initiated . The resignation of Bros . T . P . Baptie , I . P . M ., and J . Strachan , P . M ., were announced . The sum of 10 guineas was unanimously voted to the Worshipful Master ' s list as Steward for the Boys' School . The lodge was then closed , and a banquet was held at the Adelphi Theatre Restaurant . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were subsequently honoured .
Bro . C . S . Lee , P . M ., in proposing " The Health of the W . M ., " said it was rather a significant fact that the song to follow was " Oh , how I love thee . " That was something of the feeling every member of the lodge had towards their W . M ., and although he was only the third brother who had occupied that exalted position in St . Martin ' s Lodge , there was nobody who had gone betore or who would succeed him more thoroughly capable of cementing the lodge and helping that fraternal feeling that ought to exist in every lodge . They looked forward to the coming year with a great amount of pleasure , knowing Bro . Willing ' s experience of Freemasonry , and he could rest
assured of receiving their best support and every effort to mike his year a year of happiness . There was one thing he ( Bro . Lee ) would impress upon the brethren , and that was that all parochial matters should be left on the door-step , and if the W . M . would only enforce the rule , the happiness and success of the lodge was ensured . Bro . J . Willing , jun ., VV . M ., after thanking the I . P . M . and brethren , said it had always been in his mind that the W . M . was the servant of the lodge , and he depended
upon the brethren to keep him hippy and comfortable . He should be pleased to place what Masonry he knew at their disposal , and brought a hearty good will towards the brethren to endeavour to make them happy . He was sure if they worked together they could make the future of the lodge one of continued happiness and prosperity , for they were proud of their lodge . He thanked them sincerely and hoped they would help him as well as he was willing to help them .
The W . M . gave "The Installing Master , " and said he should also couple the name of Bro . Farthing , P . M . He did not suppose there was any brother who took a greater interest in the lodge than Bro . Lee , who seemed always thinking about it , and discussing it with Bro . Drew , P . M ., and others . The first Master must always look kindly upon his first love , and they knew Bro . Lee always tried to do what he could for their lodge . Bro . Farthing was a Past Master of the old Constitutional Lodge , No . 55 , and wis an able coadjutor in any work to be done .
Bro . C . S . Lee , P . M ., expressed the pleasure it afforded him to place Bro . Willing in the chair , and however indifferently the ceremony had been performed , he was duly installed , and they looked forward to a happy year under his rule . Bro . VV . T . Farthing , P . M ., said his name had been received with more acclamation than he could aspire to or deserve . He had pursued one even course since he had been a member , and had endeavoured to carry out the duties of Masonry as he understood them , and should continue in the same course . " The Initiates " was next honoured and replinl to .
On behalf of " The Visitors , " the Worshipful Masters present responded in suitable terms , viz .: Bros . Whitford , Burgess , Upton , Kedge , and L » e . The toast ot " The Officers" afforded the brethren conczrned an opportunity of expressing their intention of supporting the W . M ., and ths Tyler's toist was then given . The usual toasts followed , and some fine singing was given between the speeches , Miss Herbert , the daughter of the Secretary , ably contributing to the vocal entertainment . Bro . W . Harris , I . P . M ., in proposing the toast of " The W . M ., " said the brethren had done the right thing in electing Bro . McGowan , who had been connected with the lodge ever since its foundation and was a good worker in Masonry and an earnest follower of its teachings . He would be an honour to the lodge and would give satisfaction to the brethren , and would fully justify the hopes that had been entertained of
him-Bro . McGowan , VV . M ., in acknowledging the toist , which was drunk with great enthusiasm , said he was deeply indebted to the brethren for their kindness , and it was a great pride to him to have attained the position of W . The lodge ' s wellare would be his first concern , and he hoped they would have a very happy year , working with thit love and harmony which should always characterise Freemasons . ,

contemplated .
Craft Masonry.
The W . M . proposed "The Treasurer and the Secretary . " B . o . R . Steele was highly respected in Battersea , and now in Chpham , where his sterling qualities were fully appreciated . Bro .
The W . M . proposed "The Officers , " and Bros . Charlie Woods , S . W . ; T . Morris , S . D . ; and A . Robertson , J . D . ; responded . The Tyler's toast closed a most haopy evening , the harmony of which had beer contributed to by Bros . G . F . Winny , Stovill , Stracey , Machin , Fjulds , H irvey , and Smith . ¦—

After the formal opening of the lodge and transaction of routine business , Bro . James Willing , jun ., P . M ., was duly installed into the chair as VV . M . by Bro . Chas . S . Lee , P . M ., assisted by Bro . Farthing , P . M ., who acted as D . C , and delivered the last two addresses . The following brethren were appointed to office : Bros . VV . B . Fendick , P . M ., S .
M . of this lodge , in which he had spent many happy hours . Whatever he could do for the lodge or to make the brethren comfortable and happy he should do . The lodge ' s wellare would be his first concern , and he hoped they would have a very happy year , working with thit love and harmony which should always characterise Freemasons . ,
„ Bro . McGowan , W . M ., next proposed "The Installing Master and the Pa .
