The last advices from India , state that the fugitive rebels from Gwalior , after making a demonstration against Boondee on the 19 th of July , attempted to cross the Bundaos , but failed . On the 13 th they were menacing both Bechore and
Bughore . The Neemuch force had prepared to move out on the 1 st of August for the purpose of co-operation with Holmes ' s column , which was last heard of at Boondee . The rebels are in considerable force , their numbers being estimated at 4 , 000 or 5 , 000 fighting men , with five guns . Their leaders are Tantia Topee , Yeydial , and others . A small force from . Ahrnedabad , under Major Brimes , has been pushed forward with" instructions to advance on Kheirwarra , if necessary .
