The spire was created in 1733 , by HathanielWilkinson , a mason of the city . It is 245 feet high , and , when seen from a distance , has a pleasing effect , contrasting well with the other church towers . On a close inspection , however , it fails to satisfy
the eye , being entirely destitute of enrichment , and the windows especially are very mean . The rearrangement of the interior of the church in 1850 was not carried but with taste , the nave being filled with pews , and an ugly pulpit placed against the north east pier at an extravagant elevation , with a reading box of similar design , and almost high enough for a pulpit , on the opposite side . \ To be continued . ]

Compiled from the original Records and Documents now in Possession of the Grand Lodge ; together with the Constitutions which have been severally adopted up
to the Present Time : " also an interesting History of the Origin , Rise and Progress of the Masonic Order in Texas . In tw o volumes . Published hy authority of the M . W . Wm . The deaths of Samuel 1 V 1 . Williams , and Edward H . Tarrant , both veterans in Masonry , are announced . The former was , I believe , one oi the founders of the Grand Lodge of Texas ; the latter was its Grand Treasurer at the period of his death . The Grand Lodge of Kentucky held its Grand Annual Communication Oct . 11 th to 11 th , at Lexington . The place of sittings is changed henceforth to Louisville . The fine property of the Grand Lodge at Lexington will .
