though of course not Avithout a protest from Bros . AVhitmore ancl Binckes . The question having been so far settled , Ave trust it will never he revived in Grand Lodge , excepting to allow the Grand Master to explain that every point—we will not say in dispute , but—raised

between the two Grand Lodges lias been amicably and finally settled . AVe have said so much upon this question that we have left ourselves no room to comment on the other business transacted in Grand Lodge , but shall reserve to ourselves the right to do so in our next publication .

Toby to the Most \ A orsbipful Grand Master , returning the warrant of Lodge No . 781 , at Hobart Town , presented to Grand Lodge on Wednesday last , ancl upon Avhich , ivith other correspondence Ave commented a fortnight since . The Most AVorshipful Grand Master briefly alluded to the .

illegality of the return of the ivarrant , but no action Avas taken , either upon this letter or the correspondence referred to in the report of the Colonial Boarcl , doubtless owing to the absence from Grand Lodge of the Bight AVorshipful Deputy Grand Master ( who has hitherto conducted the discussions upon the subject ) in consequence of the death of

his only brother , the Hon . AV . Maule . Every brother will deeply sympathise with his lordship in the loss he has sustained , and hold it as expressed by the Most AVorshipful Grancl Master , as a sufficient

ground for his absence . AVe trust , hoivever , that there may be no cause for the affairs of Tasmania being again brought before Grancl Lodge , as we haA-e reason to believe that the Most AVorshipful Grand Master has taken steps to put an end to the dispute in the most effectual manner . We are informed that his Lordshi p , after clue

consideration , has determined to separate the province into two , thereby limiting the jurisdiction of Bro . Ewing to the Lodges already existing , or which may hereafter be created , in the Launceston district . AVhat are to be tho exact boundaries of the new provinces , or what steps are likely to be taken by the Most AVorshipful Grand Master to restore

the Brethren in Hobart Town to their Masonic allegiance , it is not for us to speculate upon , as Ave believe tho details are not yet arranged , though , doubtless they will be regulated so as to lead as early as
