—^»—MASONIC MEMS A PaoviNCIAL Grand Lodge ivas held at Leicester , yesterday , and the corner stone of tho Leicestershire Freemasons Hall ivas laid with Masonic honours . AVE arc informed that the late Masonic ball , at Hanley , Staffordshire , realized a surplus of £ 15 , Avhich AA' 111 be dei'oted to the Masonic- charities .

THE MASONIC CHARITIES . WILTSHIUR . THE following circular has been issued from the Provincial Grand Lodge of

"Wiltshire ; - " At a meeting of the charity fund committee held at Chippenham , this day , under the resolution of the last Provincial Grand Lodge , for the purpose of organizing a plan for raising and maintaining a fund in the proA'ince for tho support of the various Masonic charities . "It AA'as resolved , —• " 1 st . That the committee for the permanent management of the charity fund

shall consist of the . 11 . AV . Prov . Grand Master ; the H . AV . Deputy Prov . Grand Master ; the Prov . Grand Wardens ; together with the AV . Master and immediate Past Master of each Lodge . " 2 nd . That the committee shall meet on a AVednesday in the month of July in each year , at Chippenham , for the purpose of auditing the accounts , distributing the money , and preparing the report to be submitted to the Provincial Grand T , nrl frn

" 3 vtl . That the Provincial Grand Secretary bo requested to act as Secretary to the committee , and that he shall give seven days' notice of the meeting , " Ith . That the folloAving scale of payment toAvui-ds the charity fund be made b reach Lodge and Chapter : ¦—For each member , tiA-o shillings per annum ; the AV . Master on his being installed into a chair in the province , ten shillings and sixpence per annum ; tho Senior AVarden , ditto , five shillings per annum ; the Junior AVarden , ditto , five shillings per annum ; each chair in the Chapter , five shillings

per annum ; each other officer tiA-o shillings and sixpence per annum ; each candidate on his initiation * five shillings per annum . The above payments to be made at the end of each year to the Provincial Grand Treasurer , at the same time , as the dues to the Provincial Grand Lodge are paid . The Treasurer to open a separate account for the charity fund . " 5 th . That for the year 185 S , the dues for members only be paid ; all other dues to be paid from the first of January , 1 S 59 .
