ALBION LODGE ( NO . 9 ) . -On Tuesday , Feb . Sth , a meeting of this Lodge AIMS held at the Freemasons' Tavern , Bro . Storing , AV . M ., presiding . Lodge beingopened , Bro . Hughes respectfully declined to hold the collar of the S . AV . for tho present year , feeling that others might like to go into office , and hoping that his health Avould be sufficiently recovered another year to enable him to resume office , if agreeable to ' the Brethren . The AV . M . then appointed the officers as follon's ;—Bros . Knight , S . AV . ; Young , J . AV . ; Abbott , S . D . ; Brooks , J . D . ; Warr , I . G . ; Mitchell , Steward . The degree of M . M . Avas conferred upon a Brother , and tii'o propositions for joining made .

KENT LODGE ( NO . lo ) . —Tin ' s Lodge held its monthly meeting on AVednesday , Feb . 9 th , at Bro . Harris ' s , the Three Tuns Tavern , Borough . The Lodgo being opened in due form hy the AA ' . M ., Bro . E . D . Rogers , assisted by his Wardens , Bros . Mariner and Richard Jones , the minutes of the previous meeting ivere read and confirmed . Bros . Brand and Glasseot were raised to the degree of Master Mason ; and Bros . Bates and Sugden passed to the degree of F . C . Mr . Richard Preece , sen ., ivas initiated into the mystery of the Order . Bro . Mattheiv Mariner ivas unanimously elected AV . M . ; and Bro . Richard Bainessen . re-elected Treasurer

, , , having served that office for a period of thirty-two years . All business being concluded , and the Lodge closed in due form , the Brethren , about forty in number , adjourned to the banquet . The usual loyal toasts having been duly given and responded to , Bro . C . G . Gibbs , P . M ., proposed " The health of the AV . M ., " and adverted ivith feelings of regi-et at the term of his mastership expiring , he having discharged the duties of his office with eclat to himself , and the entire satisfaction of the Lodge . That the Lodge had prospered under his auspices was obviousnot

, only in the accession of members , hilt in its financial department , and he sincerely trusted , from the kindly feeling evinced towards him by the members , he would continue to give the Lodge his cordial support for many years to come . Bro . Rogers deeply regretted that lie ivas for the last time presiding at the festive , board . He begged most sincerely to assure the Brethren of the debt of gratitude he felt for the proud situation Avhich he held as their W . M ., more especially from the interesting events ivhich had occurred during his year of office . He thanked the

Past Masters and Officers of the Lodge for the very able support he had received at their hands , thereby enabling him to perform the various ceremonies with credit to the Lodge . He was indeed delighted at the high character of No . 15 , and trusted it ivould long uphold it . He hoped the zeal evinced by the younger Brethren for the acquirement of Masonic knowledge Avould continue to increase , and fit tliem for the efficient discharge of their respective offices ; and concluded by AA-ishing perpetuity to the Lodge . The AV . M . then proposed , " The newly initiated , "

AA'ho assured the Brethren of the delight afforded him in being privileged to witness so important a ceremony , and trusted the tenets and principles ivhich had been delivered at his initiation ivould not only be imprinted on his memory , hut produce a spirit of inquiry into the mysteries of the Order . The AV . M . then proposed ' ' The health of the Master elect . " Bro . Mariner said he ivas deeply sensible of the honour conferred upon him , and hoped the Brethren Avould give him the same support as had been afforded his predecessor , and his utmost endeavours would he used to prove himself AA-ortliy of their confidence . The harmony of the evening ivas greatly enhanced by the vocal powers of Bros . AVhitehouse and AVinsor , and the Brethren parted at an early hour .
