CONSECRATION OF TWO ROYAL ARCH CHAPTERS .
ON Thursday , the 23 rd ult ., there was a considerable assemblage of Companions for the purpose of witnessing aud taking part in the constituting and consecration of two Royal Arch Chapters , oue being that of Duudas , 1255 , the other the Devon Chapter , ' No . 1135 . of Newton Abbot . Godtschalk , Z . of Dnndas , they had ono whoso zeal , knowledge and self-sacrificing attention to his dnties had been known and appreciated for a long time . Companion Rev . E . R . Bowdon ' s long experience in various offices , and Masonic experience was a gnarantee for tho good working of the Devon Chapter .
Comp . Godtschalk , in reply , said he was quite unable to find words to express all he felt . It rarely fell to the lot of a brother to have so much Masonic work and pleasure crowded into so short a space a 3 he had recently experienced . On Monday he had presided as W . M . iu tho Dnndas Lodge , and initiated a geutlemau into tho Order . On Tuesday ho had been installed as E . Preceptor and Prior of the
Royal Veterans' Preceptory . On Wednesday he had tho pleasure of installing W . Bro . J . Latimer ( his successor ) as Master of the Fortitude Lodgo of Mark Master Masons , whilst to-day he had the distinguished honour of being installed as first Principal by the venerable and much beloved Provincial Chief of the Order , to whom
ho tendered his heartf nl thanks , as also to tho distinguished companions who had been present and assisted in tho ceremonies . Ex-Comp . Bowden returned thanks for himself and the Devon Chaptor , stating the pleasuro he had felt in the day ' s proceedings , aud poiuted out tho beauty and useful lessons to be learned from the It . r HHE annual meeting of this ancient Preceptory and Priory was JL held at the Huysho Masonic Temple , Plymouth , on Tuesday , tho 21 st March . Tho Preceptor elect , Sir Knight Charles Godtschalk , Constable of tho Preceptory , and who , having held high rank
in tho Provincial Priory of Devon , is deservedly very popular in tho Province , was most impressively installed by the ouiiueut SirKnighc Richard Rodda P . E . C . aud Past Grand Almoner of England ; this beautiful ceremony being wholly conducted by him and giveu with "rent force ami feelintr .
The Priory of Malta was then opened , when the vory High and Eminent Sir Knight Col . John Elliott , Great Prior of Devon , with unusual fulness , and with distinguished ability , installed the E . P . Sir Knight Godtschalk as Prior of the Chapter . Tho above ceremonies wero witnessed by an unusually large gathering , and muster roll of Knights of tho Orders , and among tho
number the following eminent Knights as P . E . Commanders and Past and acting eminent Preceptors , all of whom have and do hold high Provincial rank , formed the Board of P . E . Preceptors and P . The Priory of Malta was then opened , when the vory High and Eminent Sir Knight Col . John Elliott , Great Prior of Devon , with unusual fulness , and with distinguished ability , installed the E . P . Sir Knight Godtschalk as Prior of the Chapter . Tho above ceremonies wero witnessed by an unusually large gathering , and muster roll of Knights of tho Orders , and among tho
