successful future lies before it . Tho Alexandra Palace Lodge was promoted by a few onorgotic brethren , whose only time of leisure was tho Saturday afternoon , and was inaugurated under what wo may certainly describo as most favourable anspices ; our worthy brother J . C . Parkinson , P . G . D ., and P . P . G . M . for Middlesex , was appointed its first W . M ., and at the first and subsequent meetings of the Lodgo
numerous propositions for initiation and joining were handed in . It afterwards transpired , however , that the clays which had beon fixed for tho meetings of the Lodge were not in accordance with the business engagements of thoso who had promised to join , and . were officially engaged on tho Palace staff . This was unfortunate , but the promoters wero men who were not to bo daunted , and tho Lodge now
has on its roll of members a larger number of subscribers than its most enthusiastic friends couldhavo anticipated , and evonthislong list would probably have been exceeded had Bro . Parkinson ' s numerous engagements allowed him to havo presided moro frequently . On Saturday last , in the absence of the W . M ., Bro . J . 0 . Ho said that so much time had been occupied by their business proceedings , and

Ho then proposed the health of Her Most Gracious Majesty tho Queen , and coupled with it Prosperity to tho Craft . This toast was followed by tho National Anthem . The W . M . then remarked that having drunk allegiance to tho Queen , he would
now give them tho health of tho Sovereign of our Order , the Most Worshipfnl tho Grand Master . We , as all loyal subjects , aro especially grateful to the Grand Architect of the Universe for having watched over him during his lato journey to India . Oar Royal Master had fully sustained tho dignity of tho Order since he had been at its head , and it must bo the wish of all that he might long live to

There was an old saying , that you should taste and try before yon buy , and all would agree with him that they had an opportunity of trying thoir W . M . before they had appointed him . Tho way Bro . King had acted as their Pro W . M . had given universal satisfaction , and if such could be taken as a specimeu of what they
