The Secretary ' s report stated that a vacancy had occurred among the annuitants by the death of Bro . Hemmings on the 29 th of December lastand that an application had been made for that vacancy on
, behalf of a Bro . at Chacewater . An application had also been made for an educational grant on behalf of the son of a deceased Bro . at Helston . Two other applications had been made for the benefits of that fund ; but too late for election at that meeting . A suggestion had likewise been made to appoint a small committee to consider the alteration of some of tho rules of the fund , and to report at the next
P . G . L . meeting . The Secretary ' s duties having recently much increased , the committee suggested the appointment of an assistant secretary , at a salary of £ 10 per annum ; the assistant secretary to be appointed by tho seorotary , subject to the approval of the Prov . G . M . The committee also recommended that a sum not exceeding £ 100

Hughan in seouring tho establishment of candidates from the Province on the Grand Masonio Charities , twenty guineas were voted to be invested in Bro . Hughan ' s name in one of those Charities , and it was resolved that for the future all his
expenses incurred in these matters should be paid . £ 25 was voted to the Cornwall Masonie Annuity and Benevolent Fund , and ten guineas eaoh to the Masonio Boys' Sohool , Girls' School and the Institution for aged Freemasons and their widows . The Treasurer and Secretary of the Cornwall Masonic Annuities and Benevolent Fund , W . Bros . Reginald Rogers and T . Chirgwin , were re-elected , and W . Bros . G . W . Trenory 967 , aud S . Jacob 121 , were elected the auditors for that
fund for the year . The brethren then adjourned in procession , headed by a volnnteer band , to the parish church , whero an excellent sermon was preached by W . Bro . the Rev . G . L . Churoh P . G . Chap , from 2 Cor . xiii ., 6 , 7 . Bro . Churoh was , after the return of the brethren to the Lodge at tho Town Hall , thanked by the P . G . Hnghan being absent from the Lodge through illness his report respecting his management of the votes of the London Masonio Charities on behalf of the Province wa 3 read by W . Bro . Chirgwin . In it ho urged the continued consolidation of the voting power of the Province , pointing out that by that oourse success could alone be
obtained . He also recommended that a grant of £ 15 per annum for three years should be granted from the educational fund for the education of the boy that had been applied for , pointing out that through his age the lad would be inelegiblo for election to the London Boy 3 * Sohool . During the past ten years the province had received about
£ 2 , 000 in value from the London Charities , by the success of its candidates , and the Province should therefore do its best iu aid of those institutions . He hoped on the 28 th inst . to send up at least 400 guineas for the Royal Masonio Institution for Boys . The results of the voting on the two applications for the benefits of the fund
