M . elect was then presented , and a Board of Installed Masters was formed . The
ceremony was ably performed by tho retiring W . M ., Bro . Somers . Bro . W . H . Leo P . M . very impressively gave tho concluding addresses . On the re-admission of the brethren , tho W . He was one of the founders . Every brother regretted his loss . He leaves a widow
and one child . Tho W . M ., in putting tho resolution to the Lodge , said the last tribute to the memory of their deceased Brother was shown at his funeral , where nearly every member of the Lodgo was present . It was proposed , seconded and carried unanimously , that ' honorary membership be conferred on Bro . W . H . Lee , AV . M . 975 and P . M . 1524 , in recognition of services rendered to the Lodge . The
W . M . aud tho S . W . spoke in flattering terms of tho manner in which Bro . Lee had given valuable instruction . Bro . Lee suitably returned thanks . Tho Lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to the " Cock Tavern , " Highbury , where a very excellent banquet and dessert was provided by Bro . Baker . Grace having been sung , tho W . M . proposed tho Queen and tho Craft ; every Englishman reveres

Hubbard then very artistically sang " Jack's Yarn , " after which the W . M . gavo tho toast of tho R . AV . Lord Skelmersdale D . G . M ., and the rest of tho Grand Officers . AVe all know how his duties aro carried out by this noble Brother ; wo havo

The jewel is of solid gold , of artistic design ; it has the word Primus , with the arms of Sir Hugh Middelton , and the motto , " Virtus Palma . " Ifc also bears a suitable inscription . Bro . F . pleased to see that his endeavours to do his duty in tho Craft had met with their approbation , ho felt prond and honoured to receive the jewel placed on his breast , it was one of thoso things he would wear with pride and honour . AVe havo present to-night ono of our zealous Secretaries , and today was a peculiar incident , viz ., tho birthday of our esteemed friend , ho hoped they would enthusiastically drink his health . Bro . Hubbard then sang " Nancy Lee . " Bro . James Terry P . P . G . D . C . Herts , returned thanks ; he was sure their Lodgo would be a great supporter of the Charities . The I . P . M . had represented the Ar-ed ,
the AV . M . the Girls' School , and Bro . Abram had selected to bo a Steward for the Boys' School , and had already on his list £ 00 . He , Bro . Terry , had consecrated 19 Lodges , and in February last 16 brethren had contributed £ 900 . £ 13 , 300 was the result of tho last Festival . Tho Festival of tho Girls' School had been also successful , and he was sure the Steward to represent tho Bovs' School would
bring up a large amount . Ho was pleased to know that thev wore contributing to all the Charities , but he must urge them not to " forget the Aged in their declining years . ( Cheers . ) The AV . The Lodge was opened , and tho following brethren were unanimously elected joining members : —T . Lane .

pavtook of a recherche banquet , under tho efficient management of Bro . G . S . States . Tho W . M . proposed tho usual Loyal and Masonio toasts . In speaking to tho toast of tho Initiates , he said he was pleased to have tho hononr of initiating the son of his esteemed friend Bro . Langton , whom the Lodgo was named after ; he was sure , under such auspices , and tho attention they paid to tho
ceremony , thay wonld eventually prove themselves ornaments to the Craft , and pillars and supporters of onr antient aud honourable Order . Bro . Langton , in replying to tho toast , said he had felfc feelings of pride and gratitude in boiug allowed to be the first initiate of this Lodge . The ceremony , so impressively delivered , would make

White , candidate , was ably and completely rehearsed by the presiding officers . Comps . AV . J . Parish and F . H . Meredith were unanimously elected joining members . Tho latter expressed his grateful acknowledgments for tho honour conferred , aud the treat
that had been afforded by the ability displayed throughout the ceremony . Ho assured tho Companions that whenever opportunity offered ho would be present . The sum of one guinea was voted from the funds of tho Chapter , to bo invested in shilling tickets in Bro . Constable ' s ballot for Life Governorships of the Boys' School . Tho Chapter was then closed for tho season , and adjourned until the first Tuesday in October .
The annual installation of the Master and Officers of tho Hamilton Lodge , No . 1440 , Prov . No . 6 , took place at Spanish Town on Thursday evening , the 3 rd May .
