Nicholson , reported the result of the application for the loan of tho mother Lodge furniture for the use of the Lodge of Instruction , which was willingly granted , the only stipulation being security for damage .
The consequence of this was the pedestals of tho mother Lodge were used on the present occasion , and will continue to be so used until further notice . A vote of thanks to tho W . M . of the mother Lodge , for the loan of tho furniture , was , on tho proposition of Bro . Tucker , seconded by Bro . Sugg P . M ., carried unanimously . This closed tho business of tbe evening .

M . at 6 . 30 p . m ., and after the confirmation of tho minutes of the previous meeting , Bro . G . F . Webster was passed to the second degree , and Mr . M . Cornook was regularly initiated iuto the secrets and mysteries of Ancient Freemasonry . The brethren then proceeded to the
election of Worshipful Master , the ballot being unanimously in favour of Bro . H . J . Johnson S . W . The W . M . having congratulated the W . M . elect upon the choice of tbe brethren , Bro . Johnson in a tew well chosen sentences expressed his appreciation of tho honour which tbe Lodge had conferred upon him . Bro . W . Mann P . M . was again unanimously elected Treasurer , and Bro . Woodstock Tyler . Other
business of a minor character having been transacted , Lodge was closed in due form , and the brethren adjourned to the Crown Room of the Freemasons' Tavern , where an excellent banquet was served . Tho cloth having been cleared , the usual toasts were drank and responded to , a capital programme of music having been provided under the direction of Bro . Seymour Smith . Miss Mota Russell , a
very promising yonng soprano , sang " Wicket Gate , " in good style ; but in the Duets of No , Sir , and Fioravanti ' s " Singing Lesson , " she proved herself an actress as well as n singer . Miss Kate Earle , who has a contralto voice of much richness , sang " Some Day , " in highly finished manner , but we think that her second song— " A Bird in
Hand —was not a happy choice . Bro . C . A . White sang " Hail to thee , Albert" ( with chorus ) , " Marian May , " and the " Anchor ' s weighed , " in a masterly manner , whilst Bro . Seymour Smith was as funny as ever in his musical extravaganzas . The proceedings v ere brought to a close with a new and very pretty part song by Brother Seymour Smith , entitled , "And now we'll say Good Night . "

pleasure in proposing it , for most likely it would bo the last time he shonld do so . The last time he proposed it was on tho occasion of Bro . Dix's installation , when he wished him God speed . He now offered Bro . Dix his hearty congratulations for tho excellent way in which he had conducted the affairs of the Lodge during his term of office . Masters and the members of the Lodge for the services they had rendered during his year of office . When he entered upon his dnties he said he would do what he could for tho advancement of the Lod <» e , and he had fulfilled that promise to the best of his ability . From what had passed from P . M . Taylor , he was led to infer his efforts had been appreciated . He assured the brethren that he had always taken
the greatest interest in the Lodge , and would continue to do so as long as he sat on the left of the W . M . He again thanked them for the cordial manner with which they had received the toast of his health . The W . M . then proposed the " Health of the Past Masters of the Lodge , " coupled with the names of Bros . H . M . Taylor , Lacey , Cundick , and T . Taylor . Bro . H . M . Taylor responded . The W . M .
next proposed the " Health of the initiate , Bro . Darley , " observing that it gave him mneh pleasure in welcoming so well-known an Eas ' t End tradesman amongst them . Thero were always a nnmber of gentlemen seeking entrance into the Lodge , but the Lodge did not want quantity , but quality . He had no doubt but that Bro . Darley would prove a welcome addition to Freemasonry . Bro . Darley
