REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings . CRAFT : METROPOLITAN .

THE installation was hold on Saturday , 21 st ult ., at the Palace Hotel , Kensington , Bro . W . B . Neville succeeding his brother Bro . W . B . Neville as W . M . of the Lodge for the year . The ceremony was performed throughout wifch the greatest success , giving pleasure to the Brethren present . Bro . Green was passed to the second degree , and Mr . Jesse Smith successfully balloted for and initiated into the mysteries of the first .

KENSINGTON LODGE , No . 1767 .

After the business of the evening had been successfully concluded , an adjournment was made to the banqueting room , where an excellent dinner was served and duly appreciated by the Brethren , says the " Kensington News . " The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , the retiring W . M . coming in for a large share of hearty congratulations , as also the new W . M ., the opinion being unanimous that the working had been carried through in a manner most perfect .

As an extra mark of respect and esteem , Bro . W . B . Neville was , during the evening , after being presented with a Past Master's jewel , the happy recipient of a handsome gold and diamond ring with cat ' s eye centre , suitably engraved , as a recognition of his services afc various times in connection with

the summer outings , balls , concerts , & c , promoted by the Lodge , while Bro . Bead presented him with a handsome Past Master ' s collar jewel , which had Keen worn by him for the past twenty-five years . These pleasant ceremonies were gone through amidst much excitement and goodwill , Bro . Neville returning thanks in some well chosen and appropriate remarks .

During the evening Miss Greta Williams obliged the Brethren with some excellohi harmony , and Bro . Frank Norman also sang , Bro . Rev . H . Tvrell giving a humorous Yankee recitation .

CHOUGH LODGE , No . 2264 . tiffi seventh annual installation festival of this Lodge took place oh TKursday of lasfc week * at the Terminus Hotel , Cannon Street , B . C . and was very largely attended . The W . M . Bro . George Seott Miller opened the Lodge at half-past four o'clock , being assisted during the meeting by his Officers and the following Brethren - —Walter B . Marcus P . M , Geo . J . Judge P . M ., Charles Mussared

degrees and resumed to the first , when the ballot was taken and proved unanimous in favour of Mr . Percy Gray , who , being in attendance , was regularly initiated into the mysteries and privileges of the Craft by Bro . Scott Miller .

The Lodge was opened in the second degree when Bro . William Close Smith the W . M .-elect was presented by P . M . Walter Martin , who acted as D . G . throughout the ceremony . Bro . Smith having given his assent to the ancient charges and taken the obligation , a Board of Installed Masters was formed , when he was duly placed in th'j chair of K . S . by Bro . Miller , in

accordance with the old traditions . Considerable interest was evinced by the Brethren with regard to the installation of the W . M ., as he was one of the first initiates of the Lodge , and his progress through the various offices had given a hopeful assurance that the dignity of the " Choughs " would lose none of it » lustre under his control .

Upon tho return of the Brethren the W . M . was duly proclaimed and saluted , and subsequently invested the following Brethren as his Officers for the year : —George Scott Miller I . P . M . and Treasurer , J . F . Percival S . W ., W . V . Jull J . W ., J . W . Dewsnap P . M . Secretary ,, Hy . Saqui S . D ., J . W . Breeze J . D ., M . J . Almond I . G ., Arthur Strugnell D . C , J . Turle Lee Organist , Alfred Haynes and Charles Frolick Stewards , and Thomas Bowler Tyler . The usual addresses to the Master , Officers , and Brethren were then delivered by Bro . Scott Miller .

The auditor's report of the Lodge and Benevolent Funds was received and adopted . Another candidate was nominated for initiation at the next meeting , one member resigned , and an old member rejoined , whilo the death of a Brother since the last meeting was announced .

The W . M . having received the congratulations of the Brethren the Lodge was closed , and the company adjourned to the large hall , where the banquet was served . The customary Loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted and cordially received by the Brethren , Bro . Richard Clowes responding on behalf of the Grand Officers .

Bro . Clowes congv & tulated the W . M ., and wished him every happiness during his term of office . Bro . Miller I . P . M . proposed the W . M . He and thc Master were initiated in the Chough Lodge at the same time , and it was a great honour and pleasure to instal him as his successor . He would beyond doubt make a splendid Master , and keep the Lodge well to the front .

The toast was drunk with acclamation , and Bro . W . C . Smith , in reply , said he would do his utmost for the Lodge , and endeavour to keep up its great reputation . He earnestly urged the members to attend the Lodge of Instruction connected with the Lodge , where he had obtained all his knowledge of the Ritual .

In giving the Immediate Past and Installing Master , the W . M . observed that it was the toast of the evening . They all know the great things Bro . Miller had done for the Lodge , where he had had a most successful year of office . He then presented him with a Past Master ' s jewel , which bore the following inscription ;—

Presented to BRO . G . S . MILLER , in consideration of his valuable services as W . M . Bro . Miller , replying , stated it was with pride that he returned his

sincere thanks for the many kindnesses ho had received at their hands . He had had the honour to go up as Steward for tho Boys , and on that occasion the Lodge was third on the list . He was gratified that his services were appreciated , and he honoured the jewel . He was proud that he was the first initiate of the Lodge , and the first initiate to go through the chair .

The Initiate having been toasted , Bro . P . Gray responded . He had long aspired to be a Mason , and he hoped some day to become W . M . The W . M . proposed the Visitors . They were honoured with the presence of a goodly number , and many of them were distinguished in the Craft . He associated with the toast the names of Bro . Berenberg , Wint , and Pulman , who each acknowledged the toast , testifying to the excellent working and the hospitality of the members .

The W . M . gave the Past Masters , remarking that he hoped to have their great assistance during his term of office . Bros . Marcus P . M . and Judge P . M ., whose names were joined with the toast , responded . The Masonic Charities was next honoured .

The W . M . then submitted tho toast of the Treasurer and Secretary , which was responded to by the new Treasurer Bro . Miller I . P . M ., who paid a tribute to the great services of his predecessor Bro . Marcus P . M . Bro . Dewsnap P . M . Sec . also replied . He was honoured by again being appointed Secretary , and was thankful ho was able to servo the Lodge . The Officers was next given , and responded to by Bros . Percival S . W .,

Jull J . W ., and others . The Tyler ' s toast brought a very happy evening to an end . In a Lodge of which the members are so closely connected with the musical profession as are the " Choughs" it was to be expected that a good entertainment would be provided , and in this respect the Brethren wero not disappointed . The programme itself was a work of art , and willdoubless be prized and stowed away among the Masonio archives of those who were present . Bro . Turle Lee was responsible for the music , and he was assisted by Bros . Lester , Miles , Mole , J . H . Mullerhausen , and Arthur Strugnell .

The ceremony of initiation was worked by the W . M ., Bro . Johnson acting as candidate , The Brethren assisted Bro . P . M . De Casseres to work tho fifth section of the lecture , Bro . F . A . Slater assisted Bro . P . M . De Casseres to work the seventh , and the Brethren assisted Bro , Holland to work the first . The W . M . opened tho Lodge in the second and third degrees , and then closed down .

Bro . Joss having been elected to tho chair on Wednesday next , the Lodge was adjourned .

CITADEL LODGE , No . 1897 . ON Friday , 27 th ult ., at the Farleigh Hotel , Amhurst Road , Bros . E . G . Piatt W . M ., G-. Kebbell S . W ., F . Kebbell J . W ., C . H . Ditchman S . LODGE OF INTEGRITY , No . 163 . rf IHE regular meeting was held at the Freemasons' Hall , Manchester , on J . Wednesday , 25 th ult ., Bro . R . Alf . Hepworth W . M . There was an attendance of over thirty members , prominent among whom were Bros . J . M . H . Blarney I . P . M ., J . Wildgoose P . M . P . P . J . G . D ., J . E . Williams P . M . P . G . D . D . C , John Studd P . M . P . P . G . D . C , S . Gaskill S . W ., Herbert A . Owles J . W ., J . M . Sinclair P . M . P . P . J . G . D . Treas ., Fred Walmsley Sec . John Allen S . D ., J . M . It having been decided to form a Masonic Charities Association , the rules , & c , proposed by the preliminary Committee appointed for the purpose ,

The Lodge was then closed .

A meeting of the Committee of Management was subsequently held , Bro . F Dunstan presiding . Propositions for membership were received , and general arrangements made for carrying on the work of tho Association .

LODGE OF INTEGRITY , No . 163 . rf IHE regular meeting was held at the Freemasons' Hall , Manchester , on J . Wednesday , 25 th ult ., Bro . R . Alf . Hepworth W . M . P . M ., and Ben Williams P . M . The summons indicated very little business beyond that of balloting for Bro . Edward Webb P . M . 1134 , who was desirous of becoming a Joining Member . This over , tho Brethren were enabled to make an early adjournment to supper .

Following this was the usual festive board , where Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , Bro . Owles and others being strongly in evidence when songs , & c , were desired .
