raised to the third degree . Bros . Dnnton , Green , and Newell Avero pasfed to the second degree , and Mr . John Carter was balloted for and duly initiated into the Order . The W . M . acquitted himself in an excellent manner for so young a Mason . The election for W . M . then took place , and Bro . F . Kirk Avas unanimously chosen . Bro . L . Beck W . M . was elected Treas ., and Bro . Potter P . M . Tyler . Bros .

Lucas , Liverniote , and McGillivray , wero elected auditors . The Secretary read the report of the Committee of Grand Lodge in reference to the Grand Orient of Fiance . Bro . B . Swallow proposed , and Bro . Forscntt seconded , that the letter be entered on tho minutes . The Lodgo Avns then closed until October , and the brethren sat down to a very excellent banonet and dessert , a la Russe , provided by Bro .

Walter Gcsden . Tho W . M . proposed the usual toasts ; when giving the health of the M . W . the Grand M ., Bro . Beck alluded to the fact of His Royal Highness allowing them to uso bis arms and also his name as Dnko of Rothesay . The health of the Pro G . M ., the D . G . M . and the rest of the Grand Officers Avas given , and with the toast Avas associated the name of Bro . E . P . Albert , who acknowledged the

compliment . Tho W . M . then proposed tho toast of the newly made brethren , there were three present , two had been previously initiated ; Bro . Carter AVDS tho youngest member among them ; ho bad jnst attained the ago of 21 . Each of thoso enumerated severally responded . Bro . B . SwalloAV I . P . M . and Treasurer congratulated the brethren on their selection for W . M . The Avorking of Bro . Beck was known and

appreciated ; he regretted that in the hurry of leaving tho Lodge a jewel had not been proposed for him . HoAvever , at the audit meeting that could be remedied ; ho Avas sure that Bro . Beck's services Avero appreciated in the Lodge , and ho believed they would give him his just reward . Tho W . M . thanked tho brethren for tho kind manner he had been received . As he was now the

neAvlyelected Treasurer , ho hoped to do all ho could for their interests . Ho had felt it a great honour io be the first W . M ., and he trusted he might be among them many years . Perhaps it was rather out of placo , bnt ho would take this opportunity to say ho was a Steward for the

Girls'School ; the Lodge had voted the sum of £ 10 10 s on his list , and he felt gratified at having that amount from so young a Lodge ; ho hoped the brethren would assist him . M . on tho success that had attended his year of office .

Thoso who had seen that brother's Avorking , must appreciate with what pleasurable feelings ho offered the toast for their acceptance . As Bro . Kirk had performed the duties of S . W ., so would he fulfil thoso of W . M ., and all wished him success . Bro . F . Kirk thanked tho W . M . and the brethren for his election
