In doing so he stated thnt the toast was ono of tho most interesting that could be submitted . The ladies , although not admitted to our gatherings , aro closely united with us in all our social positions in life . Wo aro greatly indebted

to them for many comforts . He was sure among a body of Freemasons it- would bo impossible to find a brother so nngallant as not to drink heartily to the toast . " Tho Imago of the Rose" was sung by the Musical Brethren , and Bro . Guruey responded on behalf of the fair sex . Bro . Lockhart sang " Nancy o' Bristol , " and then Rev . Bro . Mermagon proposed the health of tho Musical Brethren in

deservedly complimentary terms , uniting with tho toast the name of Bro . R . B . Woodward , whom ho described as the pervading musical genius of the Lodge . The toast was cordially received , after which " Come , Boys , Drink , " was capitally rendered . Bro . Woodward , in returning thanks for the toast , said he should always do all in his power for the good of the Lodge . From the remarks of his Rev .

The Lodge was opened at 6 . 30 with solemn prayer , and the minutes of tho last regular meeting read and ratified . The presiding W . M . deplored the absenco of the W . M , which was unavoidable ; the same may ho said with regard to tho ol her absent Officers , whoare usually very punctual . There being no work before the Lodge , tho Worshipful Brother closod

tho samo in duo and ancient form , and tho brethren adjourned to supper . Tho brethren of 1381 havo just taken now quarters , and it reflects great credit on them for furnishing so compact a littlo Lodge room in which to hold their meetings . On these occasions tho usual custom of adopting a series of toasts is dispensed with , being supplanted by a social chat round tho festive board . Eich brother having done full justice to the good things providod , aud a pleasant evening having been spent , the brethren dispersed at an early honr .

Falcon Lodge , No . 1416 . —W . Bro . Geo . Marwood , P . Dep . Prov . Grand Master for North and East Yorkshire , will , on Thursday next , perform tho ceremony of installation of the W . M . elect of this Lodge ( Bro . J . T . Wilkinson ) , at tho Masonic Hall , Thirsk , at two p . m . A large attendance of brethren is anticipated .
