_ HARLOW LODGE .
ON Saturday , 28 th ult ., a Lodge , to be known as the Harlow , No . 2734 , was consecrated at the Victoria Hall , Harlow . The ceremony was performed by Bro . Col . Lockwood , M . P ., P . G . D . D . Prov . G . M . acting on behalf of the Earl of Warwick Prov . G . M ., assisted by a number of prominent members of the Craft .

LOYAL TRAVELLERS LODGE .
MASONIC ceremonies of ordinary character are things of every day , but the inauguration of a new Lodge is a . comparatively rare event , and accordingly the Brethren mustered to the number of about 400 to witness the consecration of the Loyal Travellers Lodge , No . 2733 on the roll of
the Grand Lodge of England , at the Masonic Hall , Birmingham , on Saturday afternoon , 4 th inst . The assembly room was bright with the banners of the respective Lodges , under which the Brethren ranged themselves , prominent in the vicinity of the principal chair being the banner of the new Lodge , rich with brilliant colours and gold .
In the unavoidable absence of Lord Leigh Provincial Grand Master of Warwickshire the ceremony was performed by Bro . Edward Letchworth Grand Secretary of England ,
assisted by Major-General Arbuthnot Prov . G . S . W ., T . J . Walsh Prov . G . J . W ., the Rev . L . H . Pearson Prov . G . Chaplain , W . L . Marshall Deputy G . D . C . as D . C ., T . C . Waite Prov . G . Pursuivant , & c .
The Brethren havingassembled , the Consecrating Officers and Grand Officers entered in procession , and the ancient ritual proceeded , the work being performed , as might be expected , in the most admirable and exemplary manner . The ceremonies relating to the Petition " and Warrant
having been concluded , the Prov . G . Chaplain delivered an oration on the nature and principles of Freemasonry . Here came the first anthen , " Behold how good and joyful a thing it is , "splendidly sung by Bros . D . Harrison and E . Richardson ( both of Lichfield Cathedral ) , with W . H . Myers and W .
Young P . G . O . ; Bro . W . T . Belcher , Mus . Doc , P . P . G . O ., at the organ . After the Dedication and the Invocation , and the beautiful ceremonies relating to the Lodge Board and the Elements of Consecration ( all with full choral ritual ) , the
Lodge was constituted , and the Patriarchal Benediction concluded one of the most impressive Masonic ceremonies ever witnessed in Birmingham , and one which will long linger in the memory of those who were fortunate in being present .
The next business was to instal the W . M . Designate Bro . R . A . Matthews P . M . 493 P . P . G . J . D . Gloucester . The Treasurer and Tyler having been elected , and the Officers of the new Lodge having been invested , a large proportion of the Brethren sat down to a banquet at the
Grand Hotel , where the meeting concluded , according with ancient Masonic custom , in harmony and brotherly love , every one concurring in the opinion that such working had
hardly ever before been seen in the Province , and that the reading of the Charter by Bro . F . G . Swindon Prov . Grand Sec . was one of the most striking and successful features of a magnificent ceremony . — " Birmingham Daily Gazette . "
The first supper of the Brondesbury Lodge of Instruction , No . 26 9 8 , will be held on Monday next , 13 th inst , at the Earl Derby , High Road , Kilburn , under the presidency of Bro . A . F . Hardyment W . M .-elect of the Mother Lodge . A good muster of Brethren is anticipated , and a pleasant evening looked forward to .

TT 1 HE annual meeting of the Provincial Grand Chapter of _ I _ Hampshire and the Isle of Wight was held under the banner of the Albany Chapter , No . 151 , at the Masonic Hall , Newport , on Monday , 30 th ult . In consequence of the receipt of a telegram from the Provincial Grand Superintendent Comp . W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., stating that he had been detained and was unable to
reach Southampton in time to cross by the midday boat , the banquet it had been arranged should be served as customary at the conclusion of the business proceedings was expedited , and between forty and fifty of the Companions present partook before the Chapter was held , Comp . J . E . Le Feuvre Prov . Grand Second Principal presiding . The chief toasts we re given from the chair .
In proposing the Second and Third Provincial Grand Principals , Comp . F . Newman expressed hearty congratulation to Comp . Le Feuvre on his reappearance at a Masonic function in restored health , after an extended journey in South Africa for rest and change , and in response the Chairman returned his warmest thanks for the kindly fraternal
sentiments expressed towards himself on that occasion and the sympathetic references made to his illness by Brethren in all parts of the Province during his absence , the intelligence of which had been a great source of comfort and pleasure to him during his convalescence in a distant colony . Comp . Gillman also responded .
The Principals of the Chapters of the Province was ably submitted by Comp . Goble , who briefly reviewed the growth and progress of Arch Masonry during the year . Comp . H . Wheeler Principal of Asher Barfield Chapter , Cowes , and Comp . R . G , Smith Principal of Albany Chapter , Newport , responded .
The Chairman gave expression to the appreciation by the visiting Companions of the care for their comfort and welcome extended to them by the members of the Albany Chapter , especially mentioning the names of Comps . Pring and Smith , the Stewards who had so assiduously superintended the arrangements of the banquet .
It being found that Comp . Beach would not be able to arrive in time for business , the Chapter was duly opened by Comp . Le Feuvre as the First Principal , with the assistance of Comp . Francis Newman , of East Medina Chapter , Ryde , as Second Principal , and Comp . W . Gillman 257 as Third Principal .
The acting First Principal , having explained the reason of the absence of the Provincial Grand Superintendent , moved a resolution of sympath y with the family of the late Earl of Lathom Pro Grand Z . of England , whom death had recently taken from them . This was seconded by Comp . F . Newman and carried unanimously .
The Treasurer s accounts , as printed , were adopted , on the proposition of Comp . Gieve , seconded by Comp . Penny , the First Principal remarking that they showed a very satisfactory state of affairs , and reflected much credit on Comp . Boughton-Smith , the Treasurer .
The Principals of the second four Chapters on the roll of the Province were appointed the Audit Committee . A donation of twenty guineas was voted to the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . Comp . Le Feuvre announced that the Grand Superintendent had intimated to him his reappointment as Second Grand Principal , and he then proceeded to invest the other Officers , the complete list being as follows : —
