REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative , to report Lodge or other proceedings . — : o : —

CRAFT : METROPOLITAN

SAVAGE CLUB LODGE , No . 2190 . THE installation and annual banquet of this Lodge , virtually restricted to representatives of art , literature , and science , passed off most successfully at Freemasons' Hall , on Tuesday . Bro . Eugene Bamott , who was placed in the chair of King Solomon , is so popular in artistic circles that an unusually large number of musical and dramatic Brethren attended . The Installing Master was Bro . Harold Burke P . M . who discharged his duties in an admirable manner , the whole of the

, proceedings being gone through with the Bmoothnesa and effectiveness characteristic of the Savage Club Lodge . The newly-installed Master appointed his Officers as follow : —Bro . Harold Burke I . In the absence through indisposition of Bro . Charles Townley ( better known in the ranks of pantomime authors as Geoffrey Thorn ) , the Senior Warden ' s chair was taken by Bro . Charles L . Carson P . M ., and that of J . W . ( owing to Bro . W . L . Barrett being professionally engaged at Oxford ) by Bro Edmund Rosenthal P . M . Before the Lodge closed , the latter , in a most eloquent and sympathetic speech , proposed that a sum of ten guineas should be voted to the widow and children of Bro . Henry Walsham , the well-known tenor . The proposition was carried .

The W . M . was exceedingly well received when he rose to propose the toast of the Queen and the Craft , and this was immediately followed by that of the Most Worshipful the Grand Master the Prince of Wales , submitted by Bro . John Northcott P . M . Bro . Harry Nicholls made a bright and agreeable speech in introducing the toast of the Pro Grand Master , the Deputy Grand Master , and the other Grand Officers , Present and Past , to which Rev . J . S . Brownrigg P . G . C . responded .

Bro . Harold Burke I . P . M ., in happy terms , gave the toast of the Worshipful Master , which evoked enthusiasm in such degree as to testify to the estimation in which Bro . Eugene Barnett is held . He concluded his references to the excellent work done by Bro . Burke during his year of office by presenting him with a Past Master's jewel . The entertainment , always a notable feature at the Savage Club Lodge Installation Banquet , was , thanks to Bro . F . H . Cheesewright , exceptionally

interesting and attractiye . Miss Kate Vaughan , in recitation and dance , described "How it Happened" ( a portion of which she repeated by general desire ) . Misses Lydia Thompson and Zeffie Tilbury respectively gave amusing monologues , Miss Violet Cameron sang " Voices of the Angels " and " For Ever and For Ever , " and Miss Ethel Bevans gave " Husheen " and " Ring-ading-ding . " Miss Emily Foxcroft sang " The Carnival" with much brilliancy , and Miss Emma Barnett , the able pianist , who is a cousin of the W . M .,

appropiately gave a selection from the once favourite opera , " The Mountain Sylph , " composed by John Barnett , father of the W . M . Among the male vocalists were Bro . Charles Oollette ( with " A Terrible Lot to Do Today " ) , Mr . R . Courtier Dutton ( whose fine , fresh young voice and good style gave due effect to " The Windmill" ) , Bros . Templer Saxe ( " Let's Drink , the Wine is Sparkling , " and " Sing on , My Love " ) , Franklin Clive ( " Whisper

Thy Name" ) , Dalgety Henderson ( "I Love But You " ) , Reginald Groome ( "Eileen Bawn" ) , Henry Piercy , Leo Stormonfc , and E . J . Odell , who of course was called upon for his humorous song with its prolonged last note , " The Harvest Home . " Bros . Wharton Wells and Lovett King rendered the best possible service as accompanists at this memorable gathering , says the " Stage . "

BLOOMSBURY RIFLES LODGE , No . 2362 . A N excellent meeting was held on Wednesday , at the Head Quarters of _ £ A _ the Corps , Chenies Street , W . C , the chief attraction being to witness the working of Bro . G . W . Barter , who was installed as Worshipful Master at the preceding meeting . The W . The Visitors included Bros . H . Dehane P . M . 1543 P . P . G . S . D . Essex , A . Gardiner S . W . 2707 P . G . Stewd ., D . Redfern W . M . 753 , J . C . Knife 1624 , J . Wynman , & c . The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed , Bros . G . Tolley , A . MacGregor , G . Gibbs , W . E . Pryer , and G . James were examined and entrusted . The Lodge was opened in the second degree , and those five Brethren were passed as Fellow Crafts .

The W . M . resumed the Lodge to the first degree , and Mr . W . S . Hale was presented as a candidate for initiation , the ballot having been taken and proved unanimous in bis favour . In due course he was initiated into the mysteries of the Craft . Both the ceremonies , including the ancient charge of the latter degree , were most impressively rendered , without the slightest hitch , and we congratulate the Brethren on having such a perfect worker and ruler added to the roll of their Masters . Bro . Miller P . M . Secretary read the different communications that had been addressed to the Lodge .

The W . M . proposed that a ladies banquet should be given at an early date , which proposition remains-under consideration . The W . M . received well-earned hearty good wishes from the visitors , after which the Lodge was closed with solemn prayer , and the Brethren adjourned to the Mess Room , where an excellent repast was provided . The usual toast list was gone through .

Reports Of Meetings.

BRONDESBURY LODGE , No . 2698 . A MEETING of this Lodge was held at the Earl Derby , High Road , Kilburn , on Wednesday , 8 th inst ., under the presidency of Bro . R . J . Campbell W . M ., who was supported by his Officers and other Brethren . Work was performed in each of the three degrees , Mr . H . J . Dunnaway being initiated , Bro . C . Hawes passod , and Bros . J . Aylett and F . C . Fleming raised .

The election of a W . M . for the ensuing financial year resulted in the selection of Bro . A . F . Hardyment S . W . for the important office , and he was warmly congratulated on his preferment . A vote of thanks was passed to Bro . R . J . Campbell P . M . for his services in the chair as first Worshipful Master of the Lodge , and a jewel of the value of ten guineas was voted for presentation to him at the close of his term of office .

Bros . Paine , Goodwin , and F . Crook were elected to audit the accounts of the Lodge . The W . M .-elecfc will act as a Steward at the coming Festival of the Benevolent Institution , and at present has a list of eighty guineas , which we hope will bo considerably increased ere the celebration takes place .

The W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , Bro . J . H . Craig being the candidate . The Lodge was called off , and on resuming the same candidate answered the questions leading to the second degree , and was entrusted . The Lodge was opened up and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed . The W . M . resumed the Lodge to the first degree , when Brother Hains was elected a member , and Bro . Swan W . M . for next meeting .

Bro . Crocker , the host , proposed that a hearty vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes for the great amount of work the Secretary had done , in so able a manner , on the night of consecration , which was carried unanimously and duly acknowledged . Bro . G . Wood P . M . Preceptor of the Lodge deserves great compliment for the attention he pays to every Brother . The Auditors' report was presented , which gave great satisfaction .

Bro . Thomas Sec . proposed that Bro . G . Wood P . M . Preceptor be reelected to that office , which was unanimously carried . Bro . Stratton Treasurer and Bro . Thomas Secretary were also re-eleoted to the offices which they occupy at present , each of those Brethren acknowledging the compliment paid them . A ballot in connection with the Charity Association of the Lodge was afterwards taken , and poved in favour of Bro . J . Butler .

ROYAL ALFRED LODGE , No . 780 . AT the Star and Garter Hotel , Kew Bridge , on Thursday , 2 nd inst ., Bros . A . J . Swash W . M ., Justin Allen S . W ., D . D . Heath J . W ., F . J . Larkman acting Preceptor , C . Humble S . D ., A . H . Bridger J . D ., C . E . Dowling I . G ., J . Stewart , E . C . St . Aubyn , and others .

The initiation ceremony was rehearsed , Bro . St . Aubyn taking the place of the candidate . The Lodge was opened in the second degree , and Bro . Stewart was examined as to his proficiency and entrusted , the third ceremony being rehearsed , after which the Lodge was resumed to the first degree .

Bro . Justin Allen W . M .-elect of the Mother Lodge was elected to preside on the following Thursday . Bro . K . C . St . Aubyn J . D . Era Lodge , No . 1423 , was elected a member , and the Secretary was instructed to convey the sympathies of the Brethren to Bro . H . T . Johnson , a member of the Mother Lodge , and a well known Journalist , who is confined to his bed with influenza .

FRIARS LODGE , No . 1349 . A VERY good meeting was held on Thursday , at Bro . Morris Abraham ' s , the Aldgate Distillery , Aldgate , E ., -when the chair was taken by Bro . M . Moses , who was assisted by the following : Bros . Trolowsky S . W ., M , Maken J . W ., L . A . DaCosta P . M . Prec , J . Davis Sec , Forey S . D ., S . Moses J . D ., Citroen I . G ., J . The ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Corper acting as candidate , Bro . B . DaCosta , with th ' e assistance of the Brethren , worked the first section of the lecture . The W . M . resumed the Lodge to the first degree , and Bro . Goldman was desired to read the revised bye-laws , which were adopted . Bro . L . A . DaCosta proposed that a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes for the trouble Bro . Goldman had taken in revising the bye-laws , which was carried unanimously .

Next Thursday being Officers' night Bro . Trolowsky S . W . was elected W . M . for the following week .

ST . CLEMENT DANES CLUB OF INSTRUCTION , No . 1351 . ON Wednesday , at Bro . Carr's Restaurant , 265 Strand , the Fifteen Sections were worked by Brethren of the Friars Lodge of Instruction , No . 1349 , under the presidency of Bro . L . A . DaCosta P . M . 1349 , who was supported by Bros . D . Moss P . M . P . D . G . S . B . as I . P . M ., B . DaCosta S . W ., J , Oxley J . W ., H . Peters Sec , Emden S . D ., Lotheim J . D ., G . Miles I . G ., and several others , the whole attendance being about fifty .

The proceedings having been started in the usual way the Sections were worked by the following Brethren : First Lecture—Bros . Shaveren , Lotheim , Emden , Richmond , B . DaCosta , D . Moss , and I .
