M . rose to propose the health of the Worship ful Master . Bro . Stark was one of the Founders of tho College , as well as of the Locige , where all thought he was the right man in the right place . then sang " He and She . " The W . M ., in reply , felt great pleasure in responding to the toast proposed by Bro . Hammond . He regretted to say two of tbe Pasfc Masters had resigned the Lodge ; he had frequently heard it said that the Past Masters were the backbone of a Lodge ; if this were so , he was proud to be one

THE annual Installation meeting of this young bat prosperous Lodge , which is just commencing the fourth year of its existence , took place on Tnesday evening last , at the Guildhall Tavern , Gresham-street , where there was a large attendance , especially of Visitors . At tho conclusion of the repast the Loyal and Masonic toasts were giver , from the chair and duly honoured , tho health of the new W . M . being received with especial cordiality . In responding , Bro . Thompson thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred upon him ,
aud assured them that he should exert his utmost efforts to promote the welfare of the Lodge . In proposing the health of the Immediate Pasfc Master , he spoke of the efficient manner in which he had discharged the duties of the chair during his term of office , and begged his acceptance of a handsome Past Master ' s jewel , as a mark of the respect and esteem in which he was held by the brethren , and in

tbe chair of the Lodge , which ho now leaves in strength and prosperity . Bro . Hammond , in eloquent terms , responded ; he felt tho jewel thafc had been presented to him was a mark of fcheir appreciation . He regretted to say two of tbe Pasfc Masters had resigned the Lodge ; he had frequently heard it said that the Past Masters were the backbone of a Lodge ; if this were so , he was proud to be one

Then came the toasfc of the Officers , coupled with the name of the S . W . This having been responded to , the Tyler ' s toast was given . Several glees were sung by Bros . Hodges , Taylor , W . THE annual Installation meeting of this young bat prosperous Lodge , which is just commencing the fourth year of its existence , took place on Tnesday evening last , at the Guildhall Tavern , Gresham-street , where there was a large attendance , especially of Visitors . The brethren assembled shortly after five o ' clock , and at half . pasfc Lodge was opened in accordance with the time-honoured formalities nnder the presidency of the retiring Worshipful Master ,

On the re-admission of the brethren the newly-installed Wor . Master was proclaimed , saluted , and greeted with the usual honours , and ho then proceeded to invest his Officers for the ensuing year , the collars being thns

Ritter and Clifford , whose arrangement , under the personal superintendence of Bro . Henry Mills , gave unqualified satisfaction . At tho conclusion of the repast the Loyal and Masonic toasts were giver , from the chair and duly honoured , tho health of the new W . M . being received with especial cordiality . In responding , Bro . Thompson thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred upon him ,
aud assured them that he should exert his utmost efforts to promote the welfare of the Lodge . In proposing the health of the Immediate Pasfc Master , he spoke of the efficient manner in which he had discharged the duties of the chair during his term of office , and begged his acceptance of a handsome Past Master ' s jewel , as a mark of the respect and esteem in which he was held by the brethren , and in
recognition of the valuable services he had rendered to the Lodge . The toast was most cordially received , ancl Bro . Grove , in acknowledging the compliment paid to him , thanked the brethren for their generous gift , and promised to render all the assistance he conld to his successor during the time he should rule over the Locige .
