Lodge was closed to the first degree , and the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Gribbell candidate . Lodge was called off and on . Bro . Ferrar worked the first section of the lecture , assisted by the brethren . Bro . G . Ferrar was elected to preside afc the next meeting , after which Lodge was closed , and adjourned .

St . Michael ' s Lodge , No . 211 . —The regular monthl y meeting was held at the Albion , Aldersgate-street , on Tuesday , the 8 th insfc . The chair was taken by Bro . John Waters W . M . Among those present to support their chief being Bros . Usher Back 8 . W ., W . E . Young J . W ., W . Radcliffe I . P . M ., 0 . Greenwood P . G . S . B . P . M . Treasurer , W . W . Morgan Secretary , F . J . Hentsch S . D ., T . H . Peirce

Greenwood jun ., Clynds , and Kenningham , as Visitors . Lodge having been opened and minutes of last meeting , and of an emergent meeting , read and confinned , Mr . Francis N . Frohawk , who had been regularly balloted for

and accepted at a previous meeting , was initiated into the mysteries of the first degree by the W . Master , who played his part very abl y and impressively . Mr . R . C . Douglas Bradley was then balloted for , the result being favourable to his admission into the Lodge . Such other business as remained having been disposed of , Lodge was closed with the accustomed formalities , and the brethren

adjourned to a banquet , which was in all respects worthy of the fair fame of this noted hostelry . On the removal of the cloth , Bro . Waters gave the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , to each and every one of which the brethren paid the usual honours . The toast of the Worshipful Master fell to Bro . W . Radcliffe I . P . M ., who , in proposing it , paid a just compliment to Bro . Waters for the

assiduity and zeal he exhibited in the discharge of his duties , and congratulated him on tho evidence he had afforded them in the course of that afternoon of his ability in working the ceremony of initiation . The toast was very warmly received , and the W . M ., in his reply , expressed his hope that he should continue to merit this applause , and should during the remainder of his term of office be as numerously

and loyally supported as he had been hitherto . The health of the Initiate was also duly honoured , Bro . Frohawk acknowledging the compliment , and expressing the hope that he would be found worth y of the honour they had done him in admitting him into their Lodge . The Visitors severally replied to the toast with which

they were associated , each offering a few remarks in recognition of the heartiness with which they had been received . The rest of the toasts having been worthily honoured , the Tyler was called upon to contribute his part to the proceedings , and this having been done , the brethren rose and separated , after having spent a quiet but very enjoyable evening .

Tho installation ceremony was ably and effectively rehearsed by Bro . Speedy , the WM . of the Kennington Lodge , 1381 . Bro . P . M . Cohen , of the Israel Lodge , acting as candidate , was duly installed into the chair of K . S . Thero wero a great many brethren

The Lodge was then advanced . Bro . 'Killick

offered himself as candidate to be raised , and answered the necessary questions . Lodge was further advanced , and the ceremony of raising ably rehearsed . Wells Sec , W . Seward jun . S . D ., A . Jones J . D ., Cotton I . G ., P . M . Rickwood ; Bros . J . J . Clarke , E . C . Porter , T . A . Smith . Lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the two previous meetings were read and

confirmed . The Lodge was opened up to third degree , and then resumed to first degree . Bro . T . A . Smith answered the questions , and the W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of passing , Bro . T . A . Smith candidate . The Lodge was resumed to third degree , and tho W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of raising , Bro . E . C . Porter candidate . Bro . J . Green was unanimously elected W . M . for next meeting , and the Lodge adjourned .

Kingsland Lodge of Instruction , No . 1693 . —Held at the Canonbnry Tavern , Canonbury , N ., on Monday , 31 st October , at halfpast eight . Tho installation ceremony was ably and effectively rehearsed by Bro . Speedy , the WM . of the Kennington Lodge , 1381 . Bro . P . M . Cohen , of the Israel Lodge , acting as candidate , was duly installed into the chair of K . S . Thero wero a great many brethren

present , amongst whom we noticed Bro . P . M . ' s Tillett , Gillham , Hickman ( of the Joppa ) , Fenner , Killick , Trewinnard , Pearcy , Killick jun . ; Bro . J . Osborn ( W . M . of the Sir Hugh Myddelton Lodge ) , Forge , Harthaw , Marks , Schwersee , Wolf , Woodman , Hall , & o . The W . M . Bro . Cohen having been duly saluted in each degree , invested Officers . The Lodge was then advanced . Bro . 'Killick

offered himself as candidate to be raised , and answered the necessary questions . Lodge was further advanced , and the ceremony of raising ably rehearsed . The Lodge having been resumed to the firsts degree , the votes of the members of the Lodge were taken for Bro . Harthaw , of the Kensington Lodge ; P . M . Cohen , of the Israel Lodge

P . M . Hickman , of the Joppa Lodge , who were unanimously elected as members . The usual vote of thanks was passed to Bro . Speedy for the able manner he had rehearsed the ceremony of Installation , also to Bro . Cohen , the same to be placed on the minutes of this Lodge of Instruction . Nothing further offering for the good of Freemasonry , Lodge was closed in perfect harmony .
