Frohawk , who had been regularly balloted for

and accepted at a previous meeting , was initiated into the mysteries of the first degree by the W . Master , who played his part very abl y and impressively . Mr . R . C . Douglas Bradley was then balloted for , the result being favourable to his admission into the Lodge . Such other business as remained having been disposed of , Lodge was closed with the accustomed formalities , and the brethren

adjourned to a banquet , which was in all respects worthy of the fair fame of this noted hostelry . On the removal of the cloth , Bro . Waters gave the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , to each and every one of which the brethren paid the usual honours . The toast of the Worshipful Master fell to Bro . W . Radcliffe I . P . M ., who , in proposing it , paid a just compliment to Bro . Waters for the

assiduity and zeal he exhibited in the discharge of his duties , and congratulated him on tho evidence he had afforded them in the course of that afternoon of his ability in working the ceremony of initiation . The toast was very warmly received , and the W . M ., in his reply , expressed his hope that he should continue to merit this applause , and should during the remainder of his term of office be as numerously

and loyally supported as he had been hitherto . The health of the Initiate was also duly honoured , Bro . Frohawk acknowledging the compliment , and expressing the hope that he would be found worth y of the honour they had done him in admitting him into their Lodge . The Visitors severally replied to the toast with which

they were associated , each offering a few remarks in recognition of the heartiness with which they had been received . The rest of the toasts having been worthily honoured , the Tyler was called upon to contribute his part to the proceedings , and this having been done , the brethren rose and separated , after having spent a quiet but very enjoyable evening .
