Tho gentleman elected to tin ' s office was the Rev . Dr . Brette , of Christ ' s Hospital , who was installed byBro . R . Wentworth Little , Provincial Grand Secretary of Middlesex . Lieutenant Elliott , Royal Naval Reserve , was appointed Senior Warden . Colonel

Burdetfc , the Prov . Grand Master , and several Past Grand Officers of England were present , including Bros . W . Pans , John Boyd , and Thomas Cnbitt . Apologies for absence were received from Grand Secretary , Bro . Hervey , and the Deputy Prov . Grand Master , Bro . J . C . Parkinson . Lieut . Colonel Peters , the out-going , and first Master of tho Lodge , was presented with a Past Master ' s jewel , of the

value of 15 guineas , in recognition of his zeal and ability in discharging tho duties of his office daring tho past year . This jewel was constructed from a design by Bro . J . G . Marsh , architect , the Secretary of the Lodge , and was of beautiful workmanship . Five gentlemen , of distinguished position in society , were initiated into

the Order in the course of the evening , and at the conclusion of the Lodge business the brethren partook of an excellent banquet , at which tho new Master's health was proposed with groat cordiality by Colonel Peters , and drunk with tho heartiest fervency by the company .

On Monday evening , 15 th January , a large meeting of the Craft attended at the Loins tor Marino Lodge of Australia , 266 , 1 . C ., to assist iu commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Lodge , being tho oldest Lodge in tho Colonies . The Hon . J . S . Farnell , Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master , attended , and , according to ancient enstom , installed the W . M . Brother A . S . Applcton and his

officers . An interesting chronology of the events of tho Lodge since its formation in 1824 was read by a P . M . of tho Lodgo , bringing many bygone circumstances of tho Colony in a compact form for the information of the brethren . Afrer closing tho Lodgo the brethren adjourned to a banquet prepared in M . Compagnoni ' s best style . Tho W . M . had on his right Brother Hon . J . S . Farnell , Provincial

Grand Master ; Brother the Hon . J . Sutherland , Alderman J . Davies , M . L . A ., and many P . M . 's of the three constitutions . Tho usual Masonic toasts were given . Tho toast of tho evening— " The Anniversary wo celebrate , " was drunk with much enthusiasm , being ably proposed by tho R . W . P . G . M . After spending an enjoyablo evening the brethren dispersed .
