As whatever relates to Trnro Cathedral must arouse strong feelings of interest among members of the Craft , we will note that on Saturday last , at the Bishop ' s Library , Truro , was held a meeting of tho General Committee , amon ? those present being the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe ,

P . G . M Cornwall , in the chair , tho Bishop of Truro , and E . T . Carlyon , Secretary of the Committee and Prov . Grand Secretary Cornwall . The meeting was held for the purpose of receiving the report of the Executive Committee , which among other things recommended that Carnsew

granite should be used for the plain ashlar w > rk of the outer walling of the crypt and quire , "box ground " being used for most of the dressed work inside , the architect beiner at liberty to use " Doulting " wherever he may

wish . The bulk of the interior plain work for the surface of walls is recommended to be of St . Stephen ' s granite , interior dressings to be of Bath , or other stone , at the architect's discretion .

On Thursday last Lady Roberts , wife of our gallant Bro . Sir P . "Roberts , Bart ., V . C ., G . C B , was presented with a bust of her husband . The interesting * ceremony took place at the studio of the sculptor , Mr . BT . Harvey F . R . H . S ., where also were assembled several ladies and gentlemen ,

many of whom are members of the Royal Historical Society . The presentation was entrusted to Dr . Zerffi , President of the Society , who , in a few well chosen words , requested Lady Robert ' s acceptance of the bust . Sir

Frederick briefly but appropriately acknowledging her acceptance of the gift . The bust , which is in terra cotta , represents the gallant soldier in undress staff uniform , wearing only the decoration of the Victoria Cross , and is said to be an excellent likeness .

The Marquis of Hartington , Provincial Grand Master Derbyshire , has been staying at Balmoral , as Minister in attendance on the Queen .

Yesterday ( Friday ) was fixed for the inaugural ceremony to take place in connection with the restoration of the Priory Gateway at Dover , the principal role on the occasion being assigned to Earl Granville , as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports .

On Friday last H . R . H . the Prince of Wales honoured Colonel Farquharson , of Invercauld , with a visit , and in the afternoon the gallant host , with his royal and other visitors , had a very successful deer hunt , five fine and showilyantlered stags forming the quarry . The Princess of Wales drove over later , and joined the party at luncheon .
