Moss , Dignatn , Forge , Tysh . After preliminaries , Bro . Snare answered the questions leading to the second degree in a satisfactory

manner and was dnly passed . The second section of the lecture was worked by Bro . Preceptor , assisted by the brethren . Bro . A . Mullord gave proof of hia proficiency as F . C . Lodge being advanced , that brother was raised to the degree of M . M ., both ceremonies being ably rendered . Lodge was resumed to the first , nnd Brother C . Weeden was elected to preside at the next meeting . The votes of the Lodge for the Boys' Institution were presented to Bro . Pearcy , after which Lodge was closed .

St . Michael ' s Lodge , NO . 211 . —The meetings of this Lodge were resumed on Tuesday , at the Albion , Aldersgate-street . In the absence of the W . M ., Bro . John Waters , the chair was taken by the I . P . M ., Bro . W . Radcliffe , who waa supported by Bros . Usher Back S . W ., W . E . Young J . W ., C . Greenwood P . M . P . G . S . B . After the minntes of last meeting had been read and confirmed , the ceremonies of the first and second degrees were rehearsed . Later on Bro . Secretary annonnced that at the next Anniversary Festival of the Eoyal Masonio Benevolent Institution in February next Col . J . A . Lloyd-Philipps Prov . Grand Master of the

Western Division of South Wales would preside . Bro . Morgan stated that he waa aware the Lodge had but recently gallantly supported this Charity , through one of its Stewards ; at the game time , as he was present when Colonel Lloyd-Philipps was as kedto act as President for the Festival , and as he was desirous the Metropolitan

brethren should support their neighbours of the Principality on this occasion , lie had brought the question under consideration at this early date . It was decided the matter should be considered at the November meeting of the Lodge . The brethren afterwards spent a pleasent hour in social converse .

United Strength Lodge , Wo . 228 . —The first meeting of the members of this old and papular Lodge , after the summer recess , was held on Tuesday evening , the llth inst ., at the Guildhall Tavern , Gresham-S'reet , under the presidency of the Worshipful Master Bro . G . Allen Patmore . There waa a large attendance of the brethren , but , being what may be considered an " off night . " and with almost a

blank agenda , the nnmber of invited guests was somewhat limited . After the formal business , the brethren partook of an excellent banquet provided in Messrs . Hitter and Clifford ' s nsnal style , and the Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , interspersed with an abundance of capital singing , and a very enjoyable evening was passed .

After preliminaries , the ceremony

of raising was rehearsed , Bro . Costelow kindly representing the candidate . Lodge was then regularly closed to first degree . Bro . Monson was unanimously elected W . M . for the next meeting . The question of the annual banquet was refered to , but the matter was deferred , owin < r to the absence of tbe Hon . Sec . Lodge was then closed . The Fifteen Sections will be worked in this Lodge of Instrnotion at an early date ; due notice will be given .

Eboracum Lodge , No . 1611 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held at York , on Monday last , when there was a large attendance of brethren to take part in the election of Master . Bro . J . T . Seller the W . M . presided , and there were also present Bros . T . B . Whytehead P . M ., C . G . Padel P . M ., G . Balmford P . M ., G . Simpson S . W ., it . Millington J . W ., and a number of others . The accounts for

the closing year having been satisfactorily passed , Bro . T . B . Wbyte . head moved that ten guineas from the Lodge Charity Fnnd be voted to Bro . 0 . G . Padel P . M . who purposed acting as the Lodge Steward at the next Benevolent Festival , which was carried . The next bnsiness was the ballot for W . M ., and the unanimous vote of the members fell to Bro . G . Simpson S . W ., who thanked the Lodge for its mark of

confidence . Bro . G . Balmford , who has acted as Treasurer for the Lodge fince its foundation , was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . P . Pearson Tyler . The W . M . elect then proposed the name of a gentleman as a candidate for Freemasonry , and the Lodge was closed . Subsequently at refreshment Bro . Whytehead proposed the health of the W . Master Bro . J . T . Seller , and in the course of his remarks said

that a more generous and cordial brother had never occupied the chair . He had spared nothing in forwarding the interests of the Lodge , and in all respects he had earned the goodwill and gratitude of its brethren . Bro . Seller in replying assured them that as in the past so in the future he should ever regard tbe interests of the Eboracum Lodge as prominent in his heart , and hoped yet to do it service .

United Strength Lodge , Wo . 228 . —The first meeting of the members of this old and papular Lodge , after the summer recess , was held on Tuesday evening , the llth inst ., at the Guildhall Tavern , Gresham-S'reet , under the presidency of the Worshipful Master Bro . G . Allen Patmore . There waa a large attendance of the brethren , but , being what may be considered an " off night . " and with almost a

blank agenda , the nnmber of invited guests was somewhat limited . After the formal business , the brethren partook of an excellent banquet provided in Messrs . Hitter and Clifford ' s nsnal style , and the Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , interspersed with an abundance of capital singing , and a very enjoyable evening was passed .

Eboracum Lodge , No . 1611 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held at York , on Monday last , when there was a large attendance of brethren to take part in the election of Master . Bro . J . T . Seller the W . M . presided , and there were also present Bros . T . B . Whytehead P . M ., C . G . Padel P . M ., G . Balmford P . M ., G . Simpson S . W ., it . Millington J . W ., and a number of others . The accounts for

the closing year having been satisfactorily passed , Bro . T . B . Wbyte . head moved that ten guineas from the Lodge Charity Fnnd be voted to Bro . 0 . G . Padel P . M . who purposed acting as the Lodge Steward at the next Benevolent Festival , which was carried . The next bnsiness was the ballot for W . M ., and the unanimous vote of the members fell to Bro . G . Simpson S . W ., who thanked the Lodge for its mark of

confidence . Bro . G . Balmford , who has acted as Treasurer for the Lodge fince its foundation , was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . P . Pearson Tyler . The W . M . elect then proposed the name of a gentleman as a candidate for Freemasonry , and the Lodge was closed . Subsequently at refreshment Bro . Whytehead proposed the health of the W . Master Bro . J . T . Seller , and in the course of his remarks said

that a more generous and cordial brother had never occupied the chair . He had spared nothing in forwarding the interests of the Lodge , and in all respects he had earned the goodwill and gratitude of its brethren . Bro . Seller in replying assured them that as in the past so in the future he should ever regard tbe interests of the Eboracum Lodge as prominent in his heart , and hoped yet to do it service .
