Fleck S . AV ., and the re-opening of I hi .- - I cautiful hall after the recent restoration and rc-dccorutiou , and the general business of tho Lodsre as set forth in the agenda . It may be mentioned that tho original fabric was
constructed by tho famous Bro . Sir Christopher AVren , the builder of St . Paul's Cathedral , in the latter part of the 17 th century , and who was the leading Freemason of his time . The outer walls aro considered fine specimens of brickwork ( at least in the Province of Berks and Bucks ) . Tho beantiful curves and niches being at tho present time as finely pointed and as sharply defined as when ( more than two
hundred years ago ) the building was pronounced as finished by its fflustrious architect . The fabric originally was built for schools in connection with the parish church of New Windsor , and continued to be used as such until about the year 1 S 59 or I 860 . In the year 1863 , the freehold was purchased by the brethren of the AVindsor Castle Lodge , under the auspices of Bro . Devereux P . M ., who was supported
by the subscriptions of numerous and influential brethren of tho Lodge . The plans and decorations , to utilize the fabric as a Masonic Hull , submitted by tho late Bro . Edgington P . P . G . S . W . Berks and Bucks , were approved of by tho appointed committee . The work proceeded , and , in 1864 , the beautiful temple was opened and re-consecrated by the then Acting Grand Mastcrof the Province , Bro . . / Eneas
J . Mclntyre , the Grand Eegistrar of England , nnd during the Mastership of our late respected AV . M . Bro . Captain VV . Fairer , of AVillowbrook , Eton .
