Afc the same time it was pointed out by the proposed seconder of the motion , as well as by a Past Master who spoke in support of it , that Bro .
Saunders , if he had exhibited no marked ability in tho fulfilment of his duties , had shown himself jealous of the honour of the Lodge and had distinguished himself in other respects in a manner well worthy of recognition . The motion having been put and carried with acclamation , Bro . Saunders , in acknowledging the compliment , expressed the surprise he felt afc the proposal . He fully recognised
that he did not possess the knowledge which a Master of the Lodge should display of the oftentimes arduous duties he was called upon to perform . But he would yield to no brother in hi 3 zeal to carry out tho true principles of Freemasonry ; he had shown this by having qualified as a Life Governor of all the Institutions . After a brief reference to the votes for the coming election for the Boys' School , ifc
was proposed , seconded , and carried , that the sum of five guineas voted at the last meeting towards the Stewards' List for the Girls ' School , be increased to £ 10 , and a similar sum will be forthcoming for the Boys' Festival , the Stewards themselves having promised to double their own contributions . This will raise the Lodge contributions for the current year to the central Charities to £ 30 . The other

In due course , the Master rose , and proposed the customary toasts , and in offering that of Colonel Burdetfc , the Prov . G . absence was also a subject of great regret to the Lodge . Bro . Rushworth returned thanks , and with reference to the compliment paid Bro . Levander spoke in eulogistic terms of that brothsr ' s services in connection with the Lodge . Bro . Saunders having also replied , and in doing so explained the reason of the Prov . G . M .
