NOTICES OF MEETINGS .
MERCHANT NAVY LODGE OE INSTRUCTION , No . 781 . THE Anniversary Festival of this flourishing Lodge was held on tbe 15 th inst ., at Bro . Gregory ' s , Silver Tavern , Burdett-road , E . The Lodge was duly opened by Bro . Eawe W . M . of the mother Lodge , and nsual formalities were conformed to . Lodge was afterwards closed , and the brethren sat down to the snpper which had been provided by host Gregory . Among the numerous brethren
present , were Turquand Preceptor , Scheerboom Past Master , Breden P . M . Secretary , Read P . M ., Eobinaon , Ould , Robertson , Pringle , Kenble , Brice , Barker , Bennett , Gregory , Daniell , West , Chalmers , Smith , Salt , Janson , Watson , Mills , Tribe , Money , Gainford , Harvey , Moss , Smith , Abseil , Austen , Stephens , & c . The W . M . was supported at the table by Bros . Turquand as I . P . M ., Ould Treasurer as
S . W ., and Money as J . W . At the conclusion of the meal , Bro . Rawe proposed the toast of the Queen and the Craft . The brethren were all awaro what an excellent lady she was , and they also felt she was a good mother and sovereign . Bro . Robinson sang a verse of the National Anthem , after whioh H . R . H . the Prince of Wales the Most Worshipful Grand Master , the Earl of Carnarvon D . G . M ., the Earl
of Lathom , and the other Grand Officers , were toasted . The next toast , the W . M . said , was the toast of the evening . He wonld ask them to drink Success and Prosperity to the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction . Bro . Kennett having furnished a song , Bro . P . M . Scheerboom , in responding to the toast , said : In wishing the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction success , in which they had all so
heartily joined , no one would doubt that at the present time it was in a state of great prosperity . He was a very old member , yet no words of his could sufficiently express the thanks whioh were due to one brother for having in great measure conduced to its present state of efficiency . The Lodge had experienced many nps and clowns , but since the Lodge had been under the able and skilful
guidance of their present esteemed Preceptor , Bro . Turquand , they had actually never missed a meeting , and their attendance was very satisfactory indeed . Bro . Scheerboom concluded by expressing him . self highly gratified to see so many brethren present , and hoped they would meet again on similar occasions . After a humonrous and lively reading from Bro . Keable , Bro . Turquand was toasted ,
Bro . Rawe remarking upon the pleasure it afforded him to propose a toast which waa certain of a most cordial and hearty reception , As Bro . Scheerboom had just stated , they owed their Preceptor very much . Each brother present knew how much , and they all hoped that Bro . Turquand would bo spared for many years , and that the brethren would continue to profit by his teaching . Bro . Stephens here favoured the company with an effective reading , after which
the Preceptor returned thanks to the W . M ., Wardens , and' the brethren , who , he said , had been kind enough to propose and accept , in so hearty a manner , his toast . It was very gratif ying to him to know what excellent feelings actuated the brethren towards himself , and he felt highly pleased ancl gratified that his labours had rendered the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction a success . MERCHANT NAVY LODGE OE INSTRUCTION , No . 781 . THE Anniversary Festival of this flourishing Lodge was held on tbe 15 th inst ., at Bro . Gregory ' s , Silver Tavern , Burdett-road , E . The Lodge was duly opened by Bro . Eawe W . M . of the mother Lodge , and nsual formalities were conformed to . Lodge was afterwards closed , and the brethren sat down to the snpper which had been provided by host Gregory . Among the numerous brethren
present , were Turquand Preceptor , Scheerboom Past Master , Breden P . M . Secretary , Read P . M ., Eobinaon , Ould , Robertson , Pringle , Kenble , Brice , Barker , Bennett , Gregory , Daniell , West , Chalmers , Smith , Salt , Janson , Watson , Mills , Tribe , Money , Gainford , Harvey , Moss , Smith , Abseil , Austen , Stephens , & c . The W . M . was supported at the table by Bros . Turquand as I . P . M ., Ould Treasurer as
S . W ., and Money as J . W . At the conclusion of the meal , Bro . Rawe proposed the toast of the Queen and the Craft . The brethren were all awaro what an excellent lady she was , and they also felt she was a good mother and sovereign . Bro . Robinson sang a verse of the National Anthem , after whioh H . R . H . the Prince of Wales the Most Worshipful Grand Master , the Earl of Carnarvon D . G . M ., the Earl
of Lathom , and the other Grand Officers , were toasted . The next toast , the W . M . said , was the toast of the evening . He wonld ask them to drink Success and Prosperity to the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction . Bro . Kennett having furnished a song , Bro . P . M . Scheerboom , in responding to the toast , said : In wishing the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction success , in which they had all so
heartily joined , no one would doubt that at the present time it was in a state of great prosperity . He was a very old member , yet no words of his could sufficiently express the thanks whioh were due to one brother for having in great measure conduced to its present state of efficiency . The Lodge had experienced many nps and clowns , but since the Lodge had been under the able and skilful
guidance of their present esteemed Preceptor , Bro . Turquand , they had actually never missed a meeting , and their attendance was very satisfactory indeed . Bro . Scheerboom concluded by expressing him . self highly gratified to see so many brethren present , and hoped they would meet again on similar occasions . After a humonrous and lively reading from Bro . Keable , Bro . Turquand was toasted ,
Bro . Rawe remarking upon the pleasure it afforded him to propose a toast which waa certain of a most cordial and hearty reception , As Bro . Scheerboom had just stated , they owed their Preceptor very much . Each brother present knew how much , and they all hoped that Bro . Turquand would bo spared for many years , and that the brethren would continue to profit by his teaching . Bro . Stephens here favoured the company with an effective reading , after which
the Preceptor returned thanks to the W . M ., Wardens , and' the brethren , who , he said , had been kind enough to propose and accept , in so hearty a manner , his toast . It was very gratif ying to him to know what excellent feelings actuated the brethren towards himself , and he felt highly pleased ancl gratified that his labours had rendered the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction a success . It was , indeed , a red letter Anniversary to him , and he was prond to see so many brethren present . The testimony of so large a gather-
