The W . M . next

proposed a vote of thanks to the Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master Bro . Kingston for attending , at some personal inconvenience , to instal the first W . M . of the Lodge , and for the highly efficient and impressive manner in which the ceremony had been performed . The Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master in reply expressed his gratification at being present , and alluded to the fact of the Lodges under his jurisdiction having now reached the mystic number of seven , whereas when he first became D . G . M . there were but three in the district .

Right Worshipful Bro . Kingston proceeded to express his confidence in the ability of the newly installed Master ( Bro . Roe ) to govern his Lodge , with credit to himself and satisfaction to the brethren , advising him at the same time that a judicious combination of firmness and suavity , an appearance of leading rather than driving , was always preferable to mere dogmatism . the whole of the Fraternity on the Island . The military brethren taking part in the formation of the new Lodge-had decorated the halls , staircases , and other rooms , with flowers , evergreens , and bunting , in a most artistic manner . After the conclusion of the business of the evening , the brethren adjourned to a well furnished table , suited to the almost tropical heat of the evening , where , after

due refreshment , many excellent speeches were made , which space at our disposal precludes our adequately noticing . Suffice it to say that R . W . Bro . Kingston D . G . M ., V . W . Bro . the Chevalier Rosenbusch , W . Bros . Coffey , Watson , Crabtree , and others , all spoke in most hopeful terms of the future prospects of the Wayfarers . Much

mirth was caused during the evening by the amusing tricks of a well known military brother , of Lodge 349 , who displayed his qualifications as an artiste in legerdemain . The Wayfarers Lodge has been inaugurated under a provisional Warrant granted by the D . G . Master , and is intended to be limited to Commissioned , Warrant , and Non-Commissioned Officers of H . M .
