Mnnoastor , extending over a period of forty years ; and , in a neat speech , expressed the great obligations whioh the members of the Kenlis Lod <; e and himself personally owed ta tho lon » aud unwearied labours of Bro . Muncaster on its behalf generally . Incidentally it was mentioned that Bro . Muncaster was ono of the

surviving founders of the Lodge , and its first Secretary . In coneluding , Bro . Stout , in the name of the Past Masters , Worshipful Masters , Officers and Members , presented the portrait , as some slight recognition of Bro . Muncaster ' s long connection with and valued services to the Lodge , and hoped that it might be handed down to posterity , at the same expressing kindly wishes for Bro . Muncaster ' s

health and long life . The presentation was applauded in the usual Masonio fashion . Bro . Muncaster , who was warmly greeted on rising to thank the brethren for the great honour conferred upon him , traced tho history of the Lodge from its formation , and spoke of the many difficulties ho and his colleagues had to surmount in the early days after its establishment . He gave due praiso to the many eminent brethren who assisted in the enterprise , specially naming

Bro . Crowther Morton , Whitehaven , for the great services he had rendered . Bro . W . Armstrong P . M . P . G . Steward proposed the toast of the visiting brethren , in a racy speeeb , and welcomed the large array of brethren on that particularly interesting occasion , whom the members of the Lodgs were delighted to have the honour of entertaining . A most enjoyable evening , and one long to be remembered in the annals of Kenlis Lodge , was brought to a close in the usual Masonio manner .

THE installation meeting took place on the 16 th inst ., in the Mostyn House School-room , Parkgate , and waa numerously attended by members of the Lodge and Visitors from West Lanoasshire and North Wales . The retiring Worshipful Master Brother Hawkins presided , and there was a large body of Visitors . The W . M .-elect was presented by Bros , the Hon . H . Holbrooke and

Subsequently the brethren adjourned to the Lodge Room , the Union Hotel , where an excellent banquet was served by Mrs . Acton . The usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were

proposed and responded to . The musical brethren contributing to a highly enjoyable evening were Bros . Curweu , Ellis , Robinson , Richmond , Ramase , Ritson , Poole , and l'hipps , the latter at the

installation officiating at tho organ , and also presiding at the pianoforte at tho banquet , where he contributed a march of his own composition , specially written for tho occasion , and which waa received with much favour by tho many brethren present .

INTERESTING CEREMONT .

ON the 16 th inst ., an interesting ceremony took placo at the Masonio Hall , Molesworth Street , Dublin , on the occasion of the installation of his Grace the Dnke of Abercorn Graud Master of Ireland , as Grand King of the Royal Arch Chapter , in room of Judge Townshend , resigned . The Royal Arch Masons mustered in strong force , in full regalia . The gathering presented a most brilliant ) pectaole . Companion Judge Townshend the out-going Graud Ki ng

presided , being supported by all the Grand Officers . The incoming King having been announced in due form , Companion Judge Townshend expressed the pleasure it gave him to instal the Grand Master into the office whioh he had himself held for many , many years . He hoped his Graco would occupy the high office for many years , in health and prosperity , for he was aware that his Grace

entered npon his new dnties with fche hearty good-will of all the members of fche Order . He had now great pleasure in handing him fche sceptre , showing his authority in the highest position of the Royal Arch Order in Ireland , and in investing him with the emblems of his high office . His Grace , having been saluted according fco anoienb custom , expressed his high appreciation of the great honour

that had been conferred npon him . It was greatly enhanced by tbe way in whioh his honoured and highly esteemed friend the Past Grand King had spoken of him . It would , he assured them , be his great object to fulfil the duties of hia new office in a manner in some degree approaching the efficiency with which their late Grand King had discharged them . The Grand King then announced that he had

appointed Companion Fox Goodman as his Deputy , and expressed regret that owing to illness Companion Goodman was not present to be installed . Companion R . W . Shekleton , Q . C , ex-Deputy Grand King , proposed a vote of thanks to Companion Judge Townshend for the highly satisfactory manner in whioh he had discharged hia duties as Grand King during a period extending over many years . The motion was passed with acclamation . Companion Judge Townshend

thanked the Companions with whom he had acted for so many years . Their association had been of the happiesb character . It was gratifying that the Royal Arch Order was now one oi great magnitude and influence . It was only owing to advancing years that he had been obliged fco retire from tho office which he had held with the greatest pleasure to himself , and he was glad to know thafc he had filled ifc also with satisfaction to thu members of their great Order . Tho convocation was thou closed .

The Officera aud brethren of tho Masonio Lodgea iu Doncat-ter , with their lady friends , held their animal picnic an tho Kith inst . Arrangement :- ! wero made , undei the presidency of Bro . Lauglmdge of the Mark , and Bro . Fitzgerald of tha Craft , to visit tho Bakeries . The party , numbering over 70 , loft for Worksop and Retf-jnl in saloon coaches at 9 * 45 , having a special from Retford , and before

11 o'clock Vi-ero fairly on fcheir way , mounted on char-a-bancs drawn by four horses each , toward- Mm seat of his Grace iho Duke of Portland . After the wonders of Welbeck Abbey had been viewed , the friends went forward to Edwinstowo , and diuod in thu midst of forest scenery , and a well prepared dinner her * . ) received juatico at the bands of , the visitors . The Principal of the Chapter , Bro . Bellerby ,

presided , and after a sojourn of nearly two hours , Bro . Pawson tho M . C . gave instructions to go forward to Clumber . No description ueed be attempted of this magnificent residence , Church , or Library , for no ono can fairly well conceive tho aploodour of Welbeck aad Clumber , or the beauty of the surrounding scenery without a personal visit . After Welbaok Abbey , Sherwood Forest , Edwiuatowe , Thoresby , aud Clumber wore "done , " tbo party drove back to tho

house of Bro . Knight , at tbe Station Hotel , Worksop , whore tea waa provided . After a pleasant repast , the brethren escorted the gentler majority to their saloons for homo , and arrived in Doncaster shortly after eight o ' clock . Bros . Rayner and Blake the Treasurers , and Bro . Hauaon , the Secretary , contributed to make the excursion an enjoyable and successful oue ; whilst the Worship , ful Masters and Scribe E . received the well-merited approval both of brethren from home and other towns who had joined the party .

Afc fche last meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodgo of Meath , held in the Masonio Hall , in the Town of Cavan , a beautifull y illuuiinatad address and gold repeater watch , was presented to Bro . Dr . F . E . Clarke , of Boyle , who hold the office of Provincial Grand Secretary from September 1880 until the end of last year , "in gratitude for his valuable services , and as a mark of affection and esteem . " The

watch is a mosb valuable one , and fcho address is signed by tho Marquis of Headfort , Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Meath on b . balf of the brethren , and countersigned by Brother G . H . Miller , whos succeeded Dr . Clarke in tho Provincial Grand Secretaryship . It is a splendid specimen of the illuminators' art . The presentation was made by Brother Norman D'Arcy , tho Deputy Grand Master of the Maaonic Province of Meath .
