NOTICES OF MEETINGS
St . Mungo Encampment of Knights Templar , Glasgow . —The regular monthly meeting was held at tho Star Hall , Trongate . In tho absence from the city of tho E . O . Sir Knt . Shaw , tho P . E . C . Sir Knight Eobert Bell officiated , assisted by J . O . Park G ., J . A . Ferguson T ., D . Gilchrist M ., J . McLeish Warden , J .
McDade 1 st Capt ., David Keid Recorder , and others . Two candidates were dnly proposed and unanimously elected , thereafter received as Pilgrims , created Esquires , and subsequently admitted as Knights of the Temple , the work being performed in feir Knight Bell ' s quiet but very effective style . It was announced that the next meeting would be for the election and installation of officers for ensuing year .
Scotia Lodge , No . 178 . —Wednesday , tho 15 th iust ., was a gala day with the above Lodge , being tho occasion of the Annual Picnic . The place selected this year was Loch Goin , in the neighbourhood of Eagleshani , the Farm—which place is at present , hold by a direct descendant of : the famous " Howiesons of Ballyeicb . "where are to bo seen the Flag of tho Covenanters which was
unfurled at Drumcloy , tho Sword , Bible and Drum of Captain Paton , and a number of old coins . Starting by'bus , the excursionists had a fine drive to Eagleshani , where they stopped for some time , and partook of dinner in the grounds of Bro . Mathioson , P . M . of the Lodge , and enjoyed themselves for somo time ; then , having again prepared for tho road , the journey was continued to the special spot ,
about four miles further up the country . Here a very pleasant hour was spent , dancing , games , & c , being indulged in , and after a hearty three times three had been given for Mr . aud Mrs . Howie , the party left for homo , calling as before at Eagleshani , where a rest and sub . stantial tea were enjoyed . All went merry as a " Marriage Bell , " and the excursionists arrived home at a reasonable hour , thoroughly satisfied with the day ' s outiug .

Holmes S . W ., J . Leids J . W ., and a very large assembly of members and visitors , by the whole of whom a most enjoyable evening was spent , as , in addition to tho large amount of musical talent in the Lodge , there were several professional brethren amongst the visitors who kindly havo their services to enhance the pleasure of the meeting .

W ,, Ellis S . D ., Forrest I . G ., Maidwell , Campbell , Aarons , Hollands , & c The Lodge was opened in due form . The minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed . The Lodgo was idvanced , aud Bro .
Maidwell answered tbe questions leading to the 3 rd degree , and was entrusted . The Lodge was opened in tho 3 rd , and Bro . Maidwell dn y raised . The Lodge was closed iu the 3 rd , and resumed to the 1 st degree . Bro . Maidwell answered the questions leading to the 2 nd degree , aud was entrusted . Tho Lodgo was resumed to tho 2 nd
degree , and Bro . Maidwell was duly passed . The 1 st section of the hist lecture was worked by Bro . Ellis , assisted by tho brethren . Bro . Sayer was appointed W . M . for tho ensuing Tuesday , when it is expected a large number of the brethren will attend , he being a very zealous worker .

St . Mungo Encampment of Knights Templar , Glasgow . —The regular monthly meeting was held at tho Star Hall , Trongate . In tho absence from the city of tho E . O . Sir Knt . Shaw , tho P . E . C . Sir Knight Eobert Bell officiated , assisted by J . O . Park G ., J . A . Ferguson T ., D . Gilchrist M ., J . McLeish Warden , J .
McDade 1 st Capt ., David Keid Recorder , and others . Two candidates were dnly proposed and unanimously elected , thereafter received as Pilgrims , created Esquires , and subsequently admitted as Knights of the Temple , the work being performed in feir Knight Bell ' s quiet but very effective style . It was announced that the next meeting would be for the election and installation of officers for ensuing year .
Scotia Lodge , No . 178 . —Wednesday , tho 15 th iust ., was a gala day with the above Lodge , being tho occasion of the Annual Picnic . The place selected this year was Loch Goin , in the neighbourhood of Eagleshani , the Farm—which place is at present , hold by a direct descendant of : the famous " Howiesons of Ballyeicb . "where are to bo seen the Flag of tho Covenanters which was
unfurled at Drumcloy , tho Sword , Bible and Drum of Captain Paton , and a number of old coins . Starting by'bus , the excursionists had a fine drive to Eagleshani , where they stopped for some time , and partook of dinner in the grounds of Bro . Mathioson , P . M . of the Lodge , and enjoyed themselves for somo time ; then , having again prepared for tho road , the journey was continued to the special spot ,
about four miles further up the country . Here a very pleasant hour was spent , dancing , games , & c , being indulged in , and after a hearty three times three had been given for Mr . aud Mrs . Howie , the party left for homo , calling as before at Eagleshani , where a rest and sub . stantial tea were enjoyed . All went merry as a " Marriage Bell , " and the excursionists arrived home at a reasonable hour , thoroughly satisfied with the day ' s outiug .
Athol Lodge No . 413 , Glasgow . —Held an harmony meet , ing ia their Half , 213 Buchanan-street , on Tuesday , 14 th inst ., Bro . Neilson E . W . M . presiding . Bros . J . Louttit I . P . M ., J . Holmes S . W ., J . Leids J . W ., and a very large assembly of members and visitors , by the whole of whom a most enjoyable evening was spent , as , in addition to tho large amount of musical talent in the Lodge , there were several professional brethren amongst the visitors who kindly havo their services to enhance the pleasure of the meeting .
Prosperity Lodge of Instruction . —Held at Bro . Maid . well's , Hercules Tavern , Leadenhall-street , on Tuesday , the 21 st August . Present—Bros . Daniel W . M ., Sayer S . W ., Harris J . W ,, Ellis S . D ., Forrest I . G ., Maidwell , Campbell , Aarons , Hollands , & c The Lodge was opened in due form . The minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed . The Lodgo was idvanced , aud Bro .
Maidwell answered tbe questions leading to the 3 rd degree , and was entrusted . The Lodge was opened in tho 3 rd , and Bro . Maidwell dn y raised . The Lodge was closed iu the 3 rd , and resumed to the 1 st degree . Bro . Maidwell answered the questions leading to the 2 nd degree , aud was entrusted . Tho Lodgo was resumed to tho 2 nd
degree , and Bro . Maidwell was duly passed . The 1 st section of the hist lecture was worked by Bro . Ellis , assisted by tho brethren . Bro . Sayer was appointed W . M . for tho ensuing Tuesday , when it is expected a large number of the brethren will attend , he being a very zealous worker .
