Bro . E C . Mulvey thought it was a great honour to be a Past Master of so ancient a Lodge as the Manchester , but did not consider his duties were finished after he had passed the chair . He was now M . E . Z . of the Manchester Chapter , and was most pleased to announce that no less than eight Brethren would become Companions at the next convocation , also that two visitors had requested to be allowed to join .

Tho Officers of the Lodjie having received recognition , the Tyler ' s toast , given impressively by Bro . Whiting , brought the proceedings to a happy termination . Cockrell announced his intention of going up as a Steward for the next Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , to be held in May , and having many promises

of assistance he hoped to take up as many guineas as the St . Michael ' s Lodge had years . In order to help the W . M .-eleot in so commendable an undertaking , Bro . Alfred Green P . M . The W . M ., in proposing the Installing Master , said he was proud to have been placed in charge of the Lodge by his warmest friend , whose enthusiasm for Freemasonry led him to take great trouble to place himself at its service , with the result that the members would feel that the ceremony of that evening could not have been performed better .

Bro . Bailey , in responding , expressed the pleasure it had been to him to place his dear friend in the chair , and took the opportunity of recurring to some reminiscences of the working of the Lodge , which were well received says the " East London Observer . "

The toast of the Visitors , of whom there were upwards of fifty present , was acknowledged by several members of that body , and was followed by the toast of the Masonic Charities , given by the W .
