TWENTY MINUTES IN CONDUIT STREET . —Time is precious just now , no doubt , to thoso who are left in town , and are making preparations for their exodus to tho moors ; but those who aro going northwards for a campaign against tho grouse might well spare at least twenty minutes for a visit to Conduit-street , where Ulster House , as usual , offers seasonable attractions . Among these , we would particularly call attention to Mr . Benjamin's new ' Shooting Smock , ' an ingeniously-constructed garment , which ought to bo exceedingly popular among sportsmen , both on the moors and in covert-shooting . We cannot pretend to describe it accurately—indeed , it must be seen to bo understood and appreciated . But one of the chief and most novel features is tho arrangement by which the pockets , when filled , project from tho wearer ' s person , so as not in any way to impede his movements when walking . How great an advantage this is no one who has tramped on a hot August day over the moors needs to be told . But we havo not yet exhausted the merits of Mr . Benjamin ' s new ' Shooting Smock . ' In addition to the pockets , there is a capital plan for carrying the cartridge-belt , which distributes the weight evenly over the loins , and is a great improvement upon anything of tho kind wo have yet seen . Tho 'Team-driving Coat' is another autumn novelty . In planning this garment , Mr . Benjamin has principally had in view tho inconvenience which the driver suffers from rain pelting against his coat in front and finding its way through the interstices between each button . Mr . Benjamin obviates this discomfort by making his driving-coat to button behind . It is easily slipped on , and when the cape attached to it is thrown round his shoulders tho driver may defy tho elements at their worst . Ho is as impervious to wet as if he were arrayed in a Boyton suit . More , over , this ' Team-driving Coat , ' liko Goldsmith ' s chest of drawers in the ' Deserted Village , ' ' contrives a double debt to pay , ' for when the rain has ceased , the wearer can , by loosening the bolt , slip it down over his knees and use it as a travelling-rug . Nor are the comforts of this new article of attire confined to the sterner sex . Mr . Benjamin , as usual , with tho gallantry which has always characterised him , is resolved thai the gentlemen shall havo no monopoly of his skill and ingenuity , but that tho ladies shail also enjoy all the conveniences of tho 'Team-driving Coat ; ' and accordingly , ho makes these coats so as to suit the requirements of fair teamstresses . Those who will wisely follow our advice and spare just twenty minutes for a visit to Ulster House , will , we are sure , havo constant reason during the autumn holidays to congratulate themselves on having done so . "—Sporting Gazette , August 5 , 1876 .

LADIES' DEPARTMENT . NOVELTIES m DRESS . " Tho time is now rapidly arriving when tho demand for ladies ' cloth articles of clothing will be great ; and Mr . Benjamin , with his usual forethought , has been busy preparing some suitable noveltiesamong them a Driving Cloak , which has many merits which will commend it worthily to the notice of the fair sex . Norfolk Jackets will still be worn , and there is an improvement in the cut which makes them moro becoming , being gathered closer into tho baud . The ' Smock , ' which we have already introduced to our readers , ia now made long enough to wear over a cloth petticoat , or a cloth petticoat bordered with leather , without the skirt of tho dress if found more convenient j and the capes now made to the so-called frock-coats for ladies have a recent improvement ( which has found so much favour with gentlemen ) , viz ., an additional spring over the shoulder , protecting it better in case of rain , and giving more breadth to tho figure . Tho Stone Heather Mixture is a favourite shade for tweed dresses this season . "—Tho Queen , August 5 , 1876 .

THE PRINCE'S RINK COSTUME . "Mr : Benjamin , of Ulster House , Conduit-street , has introduced a new rinking costume , and named it after the London rink that takes the lead . It combines many qualities certain to render it a notable success . The material is soft tweed—West of England tweed ; it is devoid of ornament—and yet it is not plain ; for by an ingenious method of shrinking the cloth , and then tucking it , the jacket and lower part of the skirt are covered with tiny tucks run in tho cloth , and following the curves and lines of the figure . These tucks have a ridge-like effect , as though braid were standing in upright lines on the cloth ; but , to achieve this , many experiments and many failures havo been made before this remarkable success resulted . Tho suit consists of a narrow skirt with longitudinal tucks from the knees downwards , a square tunic ( to bo worn when not rinking ) , a closefitting jacket or basquo boddice tucked all over ; a pair of gaiters to the knee ; and a cap ; all of the same tweed as the costume . From tho difficulty of tucking the cloth so that the lines accord with the figure , this novelty will not become common , for the good reason that only first-rate material and highly-skilled workmanshi p can produce it . " —The Queen , February 26 , 1876 .
