Montefiore Lodge , No . 1017 . — The regular meeting was held on Wednesday , the 27 th inst ., " at the Regent Masonio Hall , Airstreet , Regent-street . Bro . Gulliford W . M ., J . Lazarus P . M . S . W ., Grunbaum P . M . as J . W ., E . P . Albert P . G . P . Sec , L . Jacobs Treas ., M . Levy S . D ., Syer J . D ., Simmonds I . G . ; and P . M . ' s S . V . Abrahams , V . Myers , and S . Pollitzer . Tho Lodgo was opened and tho minutes

confirmed . A ballot was taken for the admission of Mr . P . Feeney , who was duly initiated into the Order ; Bro . Pasta was raised . Both ceremonies wero carefully performed by the W . M . The Lodge was thon closed , and the brethren partook of a snmptuous banquet provided by Bro . Nicols . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given . That of the Grand Officers was responded to by Bros . Rev . R .

This having been responded to , tho P . M . 's and Officers came next , Bro . M . Levy returning thanks for the latter . The Visitors severally responded ; thoy comprised Bros . W . Webb , R . Stephens , E . Jacobs , H . Oppenheimer , L . II . Loon , E . S . Loewe , and A . J . Parkhouse .

Urban Lodge , No . 1196 . —This Lodge held its regular meeting at St . John ' s Gate , Clerkenwell , on Tuesday last , under tho presidency of tho W . M ., Bro . E . G . Legge . It will bo remembered that at the meeting in February , the first , second , and third sections of the first lecture wore worked in open Lodge , and in continuation of these the fourth , fifth , sixth , and sevonth sections wero now worked

by the W . M ., who was very ably assisted by Bro . C . II . Webb D . C , Bro . Blatchford S . W ., and Bro . Eckstein acting J . W . Amongst other business , Bro . H . Marsh was made honorary member of the Lodge , showing the great regard entertained for him , and it was announced that Wednesday , the 3 rd April , was fixed for the visit of the W . M .

and Officers to the Urban Lodge of Instruction , hold at tho Three Bucks Tavern , Gresham-street . The brethren then adjourned to supper , and a very jovial and pleasant evening was spent , several Visitors being present , including Bros . Dr . Barringor , Rev . — Jones , Watts , & c .

The Lodgo was opened in tho first degree , and the minutes wove read and eon firmed . Bro . Shipley answered the

W ., McDowall S . D .-, Garrod J . D ., Jacob I . G ., Blunt acting Preceptor ; also Bros . Lockett , Dietrich , Blunt , F . Badkin , Morgan jun ., Maun , & c . Lodgo was opened in ancient form with prayer , and after tho usual pre .

liminary business Bro . Lockett offered himself as candidate for initiation . Lodge was opened in tho second degreo , and Bro . F . Badkin was passed to tho dogree of Fellow Craft . Bro . F . Badkin then answered the qnestions leading from tho socond to the third dogree , and was entrusted . Lodge was opened in the third degree , and tho

Hemming Lodge , No . 1512 . The election meeting of this Lodgo took place at the Lodge-room , Hampton , on Thursday , tho 21 st inst . Tho W . M . Bro . John Hammond called for the assistance of tho brethren for tho opening soon after 5 p . m ., in the pre 3 once of the R . W . Brother Colonel Burdett Prov . Grand Master . Tho W . M . was also supported by Past Masters E . Hopwood Treas ., D . B . Raw

late Treas ., W . Hammond Sec , and J . Wilson of tho Etonian 209 . Other Officers wero—C . W . Fox W . M . 1326 S . W ., J . C . Jossett J . W ., T . W . Ockenden S . D ., T . C Walls J . D ., F . W . Kont I . G ., J . W . Hiscox and T . Moody Senior and Junior Stewards . Tho W . M . first initiated Mr . Wm . Beauchamp , in his usual effective style , thon passed Bro . Papworth , and lastly raised Bro . W . C . Davey to tho sublime

degree . During the recess , for the preparation and preliminaries of tho initiation , the W . M . called upon the Secretary to read the Communication from Grand Lodge having reference to the assailed fundamental principles of the Craft by the Grand Oriont of France . The report of the Committee appointed by Grand Lodge having claimed the entire sympathy of the assembled brethren , and

the express support of the R . W . Prov . Grand Master and W . M . and Past Masters present , was ordered to bo entered on the minutes of the Lodgo , and its spirit fully acted upon as far as the Homming Lodgo is concerned . Among other features of the meeting should be montioned tho vote of ten guineas to tho Masonic Institution for Girls ; a Past Blaster ' s jewel to tho W . M . for the excellent manner

in which he had conducted the duties of his offico during his year ' s service ; the announcement of tho eloction of the Prov . Grand Blaster as an Hon . BIember of the Lodge ; a vote of condolence with Bro . P . BI Sharp iu his severe illness ; and several propositions for tho ensuing meeting . The S . W . Bro . Fox received tho unanimous suffrages of the brethren as W . M . elect , and acknowledged tho high honour and

mark of esteem in neat and smtablo terms . Among the other brethren present wore J . A . Scott of tho Wolsey Lodgo No . 1656 , A . D . Tozer , C . Hole , J . Chilcott , W . Knowlos , H . Blurphy , H . J . Jones , E . Andrews , Harry Tagg , and J . Gilbert . At the modest , but excellently served banquet which followed , provided by the host , Bro . Blurphy , tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given , with

great spirit , and responded to with excellent fire . Iu tho course of his remarks as Past Grand Warden , Prov . Grand Blaster , and an Hon . Member of the Lodge , Col . Burdett passed a high encomium upon the able manner iu whioh the W . 3 I . performed all throe of tho ceremonies of the Craft , congratulating tho Lodge upon its happy

possession of a Blaster whoso energy and ability angnred continued success for the Lodge , presenting a model for tho aspirations of tho " coming men" as occupants of the chair . After a most enjoyable ovening the brethren separated , at ten o ' clock . Bros . T . C Walls Prov . G . Org . and others interspersed tho proceedings at the banquet table with some excellent songs .

Badkin then answered the qnestions leading from tho socond to the third dogree , and was entrusted . Lodge was opened in the third degree , and tho

ceremony of raising was ably rehearsed , Bro . F . Badkin being candidate . Tho W . M . gave the traditional history and lectnro in a careful and impressive manner . Lodge was closed in the third and second degreos . Bro . E . Diotrich , J . D . Duke of Connaught Lodge 1527 , was ballotted for as a member . W . Kont I . G ., J . W . Hiscox and T . Moody Senior and Junior Stewards . Tho W . M . first initiated Mr . Wm . Beauchamp , in his usual effective style , thon passed Bro . Papworth , and lastly raised Bro . W . C . Davey to tho sublime

degree . During the recess , for the preparation and preliminaries of tho initiation , the W . M . called upon the Secretary to read the Communication from Grand Lodge having reference to the assailed fundamental principles of the Craft by the Grand Oriont of France . The report of the Committee appointed by Grand Lodge having claimed the entire sympathy of the assembled brethren , and

the express support of the R . W . Prov . Grand Master and W . M . and Past Masters present , was ordered to bo entered on the minutes of the Lodgo , and its spirit fully acted upon as far as the Homming Lodgo is concerned . Among other features of the meeting should be montioned tho vote of ten guineas to tho Masonic Institution for Girls ; a Past Blaster ' s jewel to tho W . M . for the excellent manner

in which he had conducted the duties of his offico during his year ' s service ; the announcement of tho eloction of the Prov . Grand Blaster as an Hon . BIember of the Lodge ; a vote of condolence with Bro . P . BI Sharp iu his severe illness ; and several propositions for tho ensuing meeting . The S . W . Bro . Fox received tho unanimous suffrages of the brethren as W . M . elect , and acknowledged tho high honour and

mark of esteem in neat and smtablo terms . Among the other brethren present wore J . A . Scott of tho Wolsey Lodgo No . 1656 , A . D . Tozer , C . Hole , J . Chilcott , W . Knowlos , H . Blurphy , H . J . Jones , E . Andrews , Harry Tagg , and J . Gilbert . At the modest , but excellently served banquet which followed , provided by the host , Bro . Blurphy , tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given , with

great spirit , and responded to with excellent fire . Iu tho course of his remarks as Past Grand Warden , Prov . Grand Blaster , and an Hon . Member of the Lodge , Col . Burdett passed a high encomium upon the able manner iu whioh the W . 3 I . performed all throe of tho ceremonies of the Craft , congratulating tho Lodge upon its happy

possession of a Blaster whoso energy and ability angnred continued success for the Lodge , presenting a model for tho aspirations of tho " coming men" as occupants of the chair . After a most enjoyable ovening the brethren separated , at ten o ' clock . Bros . T . C Walls Prov . G . Org . and others interspersed tho proceedings at the banquet table with some excellent songs .
