Western Railway Company has made the most admirable and accommodating arrangements . A first-class saloon carriage , for the convenience of the brethren , will be attached to the train leaving Paddington at ten a . m ., and Reading at eleven a . m ., returning from Oxford at nine p . m .
Thofewho contemplate a Bank holiday trip this year will see that a series of very attractive tours has been arranged f ° r the ^ Whitsun holidays by Mr . Caygill , of the Tourist office , 371 Strand . To-day and on Monday " personally

THE General Committee of tho Royal Masonic Institution for Girls met on Thursday , afc the Freemasons' Hall , under tbo presidency of Bro . Lieut .-Col . Creaton . Over 170 Lifo Governors were present . The Secretary ( Bro . Hedges ) , after tho reading and confirmation of tho minutes , read tho list of nominations of mombers for tho House and Audit Committees . A short disenssion arose ou tho reporb of tho Scrutineers of votes for the last election , which , showed thafc soma of tho votes had been credited to candidates for
whom thoy wero nofc polled . Bro . Meggy gave notice of motion for an alteration in the present mode of declaring fcho poll , and Bro . Wood , ford , in answer to some observations as to tho performance of tho duties of tho Scrutineers , said thafc tha duties of those brethren wore very arduous , and thafc the brethren selected for thoso duties discharged , them in a praiseworthy manner , and deserved the thanks of
the subscribers . Bros . Cox and Hopkirk thought thafc the poll was too much hnrried , and thafc tho result of the election should nofc be made known till the day after the election . Ton children wero placed on the list of candidates for tho next election , out of twelve petitioners , two only being deferred . LICENSED YICT' -ALI . EBS AND FRIENDLY SOCIETIES . —At tho Wandsworth County Court , on Tnesday , before Judge Stonor , tho case of Atkinson v . Waters was heard—a case of some interest . Ifc was an action for wrongful ejectment , the damage * being laid afc £ 10 . Tho plaintiff is a bnilder , of Tonsley-liill , ancl defendant the proprietor of the " Grapes , " Wandsworth , the summons being taken out by tho
trustees of a Locige of Foresters . It appeared that tho Foresters have held their meetings at the " Grapes" for somo years , but tho house had recently been purchased by the defendant . The rent of the room had been £ 2 2 s annually , and for half a year the defendant had been paid . When fio Lodge met on the 4 th February , the defendant informed the members ho required the room , but agreed to
let them hold two farther meetings there . When they met , however , on the next occasion the room was turned into a billiard room , and they were obliged to go elsewhere . Tho Secretary , Mr . Wentworth , was called , bnt was unable to show that any expense or damage was incurred . The defendant said Mr . Cook , at the Star and Garter , let them havo the room for nothing . His honour said plaintiff had shown no damage , and directed a nonsuit .
