Comps . H . Faudel was instituted Z . ; II . Dearsley , R . ; R . Spencer , J . ; by Comp . R . L . AVilson , P . Z ., and the other officers of the Chapter . One so instructed in the workings of Masonry as Comp . B . AVilson , insures to us the certainty that the august ceremonies of the day were perfectly performed , aud we most truly congratulate the Chapter upon tbe acquisition of such principals . The following officers were also appointed : —Comps . AV . Jonas 1 st Ass . Sec . ; P . Burrell
, , 2 nd ditto ; AV . Major , 3 rd ditto ; J . V'ink , Steward . Upon a motion duly made and seconded , it was resolved , that a jewel of certain value be presented to Comp . Donne , P . Z ., for the manner in which he had conducted the business ofthe Chapter during his year of office , as well as for the general respect and affection felt
for him by the Companions . A proposition for exaltation was made and acceded to . March 1 . —This Convocation again assembled , and exalted two Brethren to the Sublime Degree . Comp . Faudel ( 3 ) proved by his manner of performing ihe duties , how much judgment the Chapter had exercised in electing him 1 st Prin . Comp . J . Vink , P . G ., rose , and after a hi gh eulogium on the Masonic and private character of the late Comp . Dr . Crucefix , P . G ., who was an honorary member of this Chapter , and exnressine- in the
most feeling terms the regret he felt at the loss the Craft had sustained by his decease , moved , that such expressions of esteem and sorrpw be entered upon the minutes of the Chapter ; which motion having been dul y seconded b y Comp . Hodgkinson , was carried unanimously . Propositions for the exaltation of Brethren having been approved , the Chapter adjourned .
