A history of this lodge would be one of Masonic Charity ; but ive refrain from commencing it , simply because we know

Master , on the festival succeeding his installation , became a Life Governor of ihe Girl ' s School , and on representing bis lodge as Steward , gave ihe magnificent donation of 100 / . ; this is one of those lodges whose aim is the doing the most good , and for this object it strives with proportionate efforts , and generally succeeds . Bro . Heiseh , S . W ., Mullens , J . AA' ., am ! the other officers appointed , are worihy to succeed the present excellent AA ' . AL , when it shall be their turn , and prove themselves worthy of that honour , as they assuredl y will do .
UNIVERSAL LODGE , NO . 212 . —At the meeting in January , Bro . A . Attwood . AV . M ., installed his successor , Bro . Lieut . Hill , li . N . ; we are happy at hearing this lodge is iu high working order , and that one of its proudest features is , that it is " universal" in supporting- ' all the Charities of the Urder .
ST . PAUL ' LODGE , NO . 222 . — ' 11-iis lodg-e , which is unceasing in its effort for the public weal of Freemasonry , is no less famous for its working ancl private usefulness . Amongst its members will be found many , ivhose names arc so well known in the Alasonic world , as to ensure to them the respect aud admiration of the Craft . The M . W . GMaster saw iu Bro . L . Chandler , those Masonic attributes , which most properly gained for him the Purple ; aud there is no Brother on the
Dais who move dignifies it b y his virtues , independence , and fraternal regard for bis Brethren . Bro . Cleghorn—one of those lights in Masonry , iibose brilliancy is never eclipsed , is also a Member of this lodge , and does honour to the position he holds in it as P . M . Bro . AV . Foster , while he is beloved b y his nssociaies , ancl one of ihe very best working Masons in the Craft , is also a P . It was a duty so ably and beautifully performed , as to deprive us of that envy we should have otherwise felt , in installing a Brother of such hig h attainments in his profession , and of such acquirements as a gentleman and a scholar . Golding- Bird , tin-owing off ihe depth of thought for a time , which their avocations necessarily induce , and changing the subject of their meditations for those afforded in a Masonic . Lodge .
