In addition to the ordinary Assurance of Healthy Lives , this Society , early in the year 1824 , originated the plan of granting Policies on the Lives of Persons more or less deviating from the standard of health . Having issued one fourth of the whole number of Policies on Lives of that description , the Board have recently caused a careful investigation into this branch of the business to be made . The result of this investigation has proved highly satisfactory as to the past , and encouraging for the future . The data derived from long experience in this class of cases , and exclusively available by this Society , enable the Directors to state with confidence their conviction that the system now adopted by them for
