In 1821 , after the entry of the Austrians into the kingdom , and in spite of the general arrests which had taken place , there were still left some heroes , children ofthe widow , who possessed a sublime mind , and who were incapable of conceiving any fear . These men rose , in order to try a re-union of the true patriots , who were not in prison , and to
attempt a re-action . Derosa Antoine , of the province of Salerno , a Mason , inflamed with the desire of saving his country from the most disgraceful slavery , joined himself with several Masons and with some Carbonari . They established a correspondence with other provinces ; but at the moment of the explosion of the conspiracy they were discovered , and condemned to death .
