The following document , from the Privy Seal Book of Scotland , has never appeared in any Masonic work . It is a commission granted by King James VI . of Scotland , to Patrick Copeland , Esq ., of Udaucht , to hold the office of Warden , or Provincial Grand Master , as it is now named , over tlie Craft , within the shires of Aberdeen , Banff , and Kincardine , and which office his predecessor seems also to have held , like
himself , by previous election of the Brethren . " Ane lettre maid makand mention that our Soverane Lord being informit of the qualification of PATRICK COIPLAND , of Udaucht , for useing and exerceing of the office of AVardanrie over the airt and Craft of MASONRIE , and that his predecessouris lies bene ancient possessouris of the said office of AVardanrie over all the boundis of Aberdeen , Banff , and Kincarne , lyikas the said PATRICK himself is electit and ehosin to the said office by common consent of the maist pairt of the Master Masounes within the sheriffdomes of Aberdeen , Banff , and Kincarne ; thairfore GEKAND and GRANTANB to the said PATRICK , the said office of

Tam-, worth , in the peerage of Great Britain , and a baronet , was second and youngest son of the sixth Earl Ferrers , by Catherine , daughter of Mr . Rowland Cotton . He was born 13 th November , 1760 , and was consequently in his 82 nd year . On the death of his brother Robert , the seventh earl , 2 nd May , 1827 , he succeeded to the famil y honours and estates- The . deceased Earl was twice married , first July 24 , 1781 , to Miss Frances Warddaughter of the Rev . AAllliam AVard , and aunt of
, the late Lord Dudley and AVard , by whom , who died March 4 , 1812 , he had issue , Lady Frances Shirley , died Feb . 5 , 1834 ; Robert AVilliam Viscount Tamworth , born 1783 , and married Anne , daughter of Mr .
