THE characters inscribed above , taken from buildings of the beginning of the seventeenth , and end of the ei ghteenth century , respectively , justify us in saying that the resemblance which these marks on modern buildings , in Malta , bear to the few others which we have been able to give from buildings of the middle agesmust be sufficientl
