The minutes of the April meeting and the emergency of June 4 th were confirmed . Bros . Mason , Barber , Millis , Amelot , and Buret were passed to the Second Degree . Ballot was taken fqr Mr . Arthur Neat , whicli proved

unanimous in his favour , and he was duly initiated into Freemasonry . Bro . H . S . Lee , S . VV ., was unanimously elected VV . M . ; Bro . Hammond , P . M ., re-elected Treas . ; and Bro . Potter , P . M ., re-elected Tyler . The by-laws were read , and auditors appointed . Three candidates were proposed for initiation in November , two members resigned , and three placed on country list . A Past Master's jewel , value

£ 10 IOS ., was voted to the W . M ., Bro . Jones , for presentation in November . The brethren ( 4 S ) afterwards dined at the Cafe Royal , in the customary good style this establishment is renowned for , although the summons still carried only the word refreshments , which to visitors of this happy and successful lodge is always a subject of surprise

and enjoyment , as the creature comforts are so well provided ( a full dinner ) under the modesty of refreshments . Bros . Hoare , Org . ; H . Twiney , S . D . 1319 ; Hammond , P . M . ; Eastgate , P . M . ; afforded some excellent music , and the brethren separated until the installation meeting , fourth Thursday in November .

KENSINGTON LODGE ( No . 1767 ) . —A meeting of this lodge was held on the 19 th ult ., at the Kensington Hotel , adjoining Addison-road Station . The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting , and of a lodge of emergency at which the removal of the lodge meetings from the South Kensington Hotel to the new quarters was arranged , were submitted and confirmed , the immediate cause of the

removal being the purchase of the latter hotel by Mr . Bailey , of Bailey ' s Hotel , and his inability to accommodate the lodge . In the absence of the VV . M ., the chair was taken by Bro . P . M . Taylor , who worked the ceremonies of the evening with even more than his accustomed ability , his initiation of Mr . Arthur Dovey being specially impressive . The brethren then proceeded to elect a W . M . for the

ensuing year , in consequence of the W . M . elect withdrawing his election for the present , on account of private affairs which might preclude his devoting sufficient time to the duties of the office . The choice fell upon the J . W ., Bro . C . Walter . The lodge having been closed in the usual Masonic manner , the brethren adjourned to refreshment , which was served in a satisfactory style .

HENRY LEVANDER LODGE ( No . 2048 ) . — On Saturday last , this successful lodge met for the dispatch of business at the Railway Hotel , Harrow Station , when there was a good attendance of members . The VV . M ., Bro . W . A . Scurrah , opened the lodge , supported by Bros . Henry Lovegrove , I . P . M . and Treas . ; C . J . Axford , S . W . ; Philip Cheek , l . W . ; C . P . McKay , Sec : B .

M . Surridge , S . D . ; W . Heath Burgess , J . D . ; H . Webb , I . G . ; T . E . Worrall , D . C ; S . Reece , Stwd . ; John Reed , P . M . 720 , Org . ; and a number ol lay brethren . The first business , after the minutes of the previous meeting had been read and confirmed , was the ceremony of raising Bros . Arthur Henry Scurrah , Frank Chas . Joseph , H . VV . Parker , and Wm . Dent Dickenson . These

candidates were taker , two by two as far as the obligation , all being present during the concluding portion of it . Bro . Alfred Wm . Gerrard was then passed to the Degree of F . C , after which Messrs . James Hunt , Edwin James Sadgrove , and George Powell were initiated into the mysteries and privileges of the First Degree . Two candidates for initiation , viz ., Mr . Wm . Robert Nelson , already balloted

for and approved , Mr . John Dolling , balloted for and approved at this meeting , and Bro . Robert Wilkin , a candidate for raising , were not present , so that there is therefore some substantial business standing over for the next meeting . The whole of the ceremonies were most carefully performed by the W . M ., whose powers of endurance must be great , for his style at the conclusion of the work was as

bright and as careful as at the commencement . In consequence of the length of time necessarily occupied in the foregoing work , a notice of motion placed on the paper in the name of Bro . R . M . Surridge , S . D . — "That the regular meetings be increased to five " —was agreed to be postponed for discussion until the next lodge in February . Bro . Scurrah , W . M ., then said that he had a somewhat

pleasurable duty to perform . The brethren would remember that at their last meeting he had thrown out a suggestion with regard to the lodge furniture . Up to that time they had been working with borrowed furniture ; but bethought that the time had arrived when they ought to possess furniture of their own , and , in order to avoid the inconvenience of causing a drain upon the lodge funds , and the still

greater inconvenience of going into debt for it , he had on the occasion referred to made an offer to present pedestals to the lodge if the other members would amongst them provide the remaining articles . That offer had been very heartily responded to ; one after another the brethren had risen in their places and promised certain articles , and the result was as follows : The lodge had the three pedestals

from himself ; the tripod and perfect ashlar from Bro , Axford , S . W . ; the Wardens' columns from Bro . Cheek , J . W . ; the plumb rule from Bro . Surridge , S . D . ; and the tracing boards from Bro . Wake . Bros . Burgess , Webb , and another had given the three candlesticks ; the three cushions had been provided by Bro . McKay , the Secretary ; and Bro . Worrall the three gavels , and sounding board by Bro . Arthur

Scurrah . Bro . F . Levander ( brother of the brother Whose name the lodge bore ) had furnished them with a handsome bible , with the request that it might be placed on the Master ' s pedestal without comment , and that had been done . The articles now left to be provided were the ballot-box , the wands , thc dagger , and the level . The articles of furniture which they had acquired the WM

.. then presented , in the name of the several donors , to Bro . Lovegrove , the Treasurer , as the property of the lodge . ., " - Lovegrove having in the name of the lodge returned tnanks for the donations , the W . Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

Stiles , and he proposed that that worthy brother should be elected an honorary member of the lodge . The vote having been carried unanimously , Bro . Stiles acknowledged the compliment , accepting the honorary membership , and said that he considered the honour bestowed upon him as an ample recompense for whatever services he had been able to render to the lodge .

A vote of thanks was also passed to Bro . Frederick Levander , and the Secretary was directed to forward a copy of it to him . Brn . Lovegrove said that a runic cross in Sicilian marble would be erected at Hampstead Cemetery over the grave of the founder of the lodge within a year from the date of his death .

The Worshipful Master said he had promised Bra . Terry that he would be a Steward at some time for the Masonic Benevolent Institution , and now gave notice that he proposed to fulfil that promise by standing at the next festival . He did not expect that those members of the lodge who had already subscribed to the Masonic Charities would do so again , but he was sure that those who had not

done so would be ready to support his Stewardship with their contributions . Bro . Gerrard at this point rose , and said , in regard to the furniture not yet provided , that lie should be happy to present the wands to the lodge . The lodge vvas then closed in due form , and the brethren adjourned to an admirably served banquet , at the

conclusion of which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by the W . M ., and were heartily received by the brethren . Bro . Lovegrove , I . P . M ., in proposing "The Health of the W . M ., " said that it had been their good fortune to secure Bro . Scurrah as one ' of the founders of that lodge . Bro . Scurrah was a most earnest , energetic man , and from

the time that he joined the Craft it was certain that he would push forward to a front place . With the spread of Freemasonry it appeared to him the claims upon Freemasonry must increase . Though he hoped that none present would have need of such help , claims came from the most unexpected quarters , exemplifying the vicissitudes of life , and showing them all that it behoved them to support

Freemasonry in the way in which tne W . M . had been so successful . The Worshipful Master , in returning thanks , said that he felt very proud and happy to find himself at the head of the lodge . He had already assured them that he took a deep interest in all that concerned Freemasonry . He believed that if a man who entered Freemasonry thoroughly

looked into its principles he could not fail to become a better man . He need not further refer to those splendid Masonic Institutions , the Charities , than to say that they had the hearty co-operation and support of every right thinking Freemason , and as far as he was concerned nothing should be left untried to uphold the honour and dignity of Freemasonry , and to do his best to advance this

lodge in particular , and to assist in carrying on the grand work of Freemasonry as it ought to be carried on . Amongst other toasts which cannot be noticed in detail the VV . M . proposed " The Health of the Visitors , " coupling with it " The Masonic Charities , " in honour of Bro . Terry , who was present , upon whom and Bro . Stiles he called for replies .

Bro . Stiles , as the time was getting short , generously made a very brief reply , in order to give Bro . Terry an opportunity of making a few remarks . Bro . Terry followed with a most interesting speech , and one of the most telling appeals he has ever made , rejoicing particularly in the prospect of having to assist in the success of his next Festival the services of the " champion

M ' ., who is depicted wearing his full Masonic regalia , with numerous jewels and decorations . The painting was received on behalf of the lodge by the VV . M ., Bro . C . W . Grimwood , who thanked Bro . Jennings in becoming terms for his handsome gift . He suspended it over the W . ' M's . chair , trusting that it would

remain there for many years in token of their sincere regard for the distinguished brother who had rendered such valuable help to the lodge . Bro .
