The lodge having been opened , the minutes ol the previous meeting were teael and confirmed , and the accountsand Auditors ' icport for the past year were received , adopted , and ordered to be entered on the minutes . The chair was occupied by Bro . J . Beresford Ryley , P . M ., P . P . S . G . D ., and Bro . D . Hart Davies , P . M ., presented Bro . H . Saunion , the VV . M . elect , and a Board of installed

Masters was constituted . Bro . Saunion was then installed in a most impressive manner and saluted . The new W . M . then appointed his officers . Bro . H . T . Tallack , I . P . M ., was presented with a handsome jewel which had been voted by the lodge for the services he had rendered , and Bro . Tallack expressed his kind and grateful thanks . Ihe sum of £ s 5 s- was then voted to a distressed brother from

the lodge Benevolent F ' und . Bro . J . Beresford Ryley having announced his intention of accepting a Stewardship at the annual festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in February , l . SgG , a sum ] of £ 5 5 s . was voted from the lodge funds to be placeel on his list . It was also resolved to subscribe ios . per annum to the Charity Committee of the province towards necessary expenses .

I he ledge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to a well served banquet , at wbich thc customary toasts were proposeel and honoured . During the evening a cordial vote of thanks was accorded to Bro . J . Beresford Ryley for the able manner in which he had installed the W . M . whom he had initiated into

Freemason' } ' in this lodge . The thanks of the lodge were also give-n to Bro . Harlow and other visitors for the kind assislam e they had rendered during the ceremony . Duiinn ihe evening a iew songs and recitations by some of thebielhren present added considerably to the success of an er joyable evening .

Although there was no work on it proved a very interesting gathering . After chapter was closed , light refreshment was partaken of in the ante-room .

GUERNSEY . Doyle ' s Chapter of Fellowship ( No . S . )) . —Th * installation meeting of this vi : ry excellent chapter took place as is customary on St . George ' s Day . I he new Principals being zealous energetic Masons and extremely popular , a full muster of the companions and many visitors , many of them hailing from Loyalty Chapter ,

No . 243 , had leathered together for this interesting occasion . Comp . J . T . Laine was placed in the first chair ; Comp . T . P . llamel in the second ; and Comp . T . C . Royle in the third . Manv Shropshire brethren may be interested to learn that Comp . Koyle , who is a Past Grand Officer of their province , anel who lias now settled in this island for some years , is still as keen and indefatigable a

supporter of the Craft as he was in days gone by at Shrewsbury . After the installatiem was completed . Comp . Colonel Guvon was appointed and invested as Principal Sojourner , anel Comp . Wilkins , who has for so many years acted as Scribe E ., was re-invested . The installation ceremony was conducted by the Provincial Grand Master , who , at the same time , vacateel the lirst chair , which he had occupied for the

last two yeais . Comp . Stickland , the Senior Past Principal , and to whom the chanter is deeply indebted for his constant and ever ready assistance and support , and who , moreover , is an accomplished ritualist , acted as Director of Ceremonies . Amongst the visitois we were pleased to note the presence of Comps . J . Stranger , M . E . Z ., and Thorn , P . P . of 243 .

surpass . Three brethren were proposed for exaltation , and there being no further business , the chapter was closed . The companions then adjourned to refreshment , and the usual toasts followed . Comp . R . F . Gould , who replied for "The Grand Ofiicers , Present and Past , " said that the new office-bearers of the Grand Lodge had been appointed on the previous

evening , and those of them that were Royal Arch Alasons would shortly be placed in corresponding positions in thc Grand Chapter . Among thc latest selections for the highest honours of the Craft were some very notable members of their ancient Society . The new Senior Grand Warden was General Lord Roberts ; the new Junior Grand Warden , Lord Barnard ; one of the Grand Chaplains was a Bishop , and the other a Dean . Members of Parliament were also

largely represented , and among them a well-known Surrey Mason and former Grand Warden of the province , Bro . T . T . Hucknill , Ij . C , M . P ., was a leading figure . Of the new Grand Ollicers , therefore , he ventured to predict that they would be found to amply justify the wisdom the Prince of Wales had displayed in their selection . Bro . Gould

concluded by thanking the Companions for their hospitality , and assuring them that during a lengthened membership ol the Royal Arch Degree , hc had never seen a greater proficiency in thc ceremonial attached to it , than was evinced by thc ofiicers of the Bisley Chapter on the several occasions he had been a visitor at their meetings .

YORK . Zetland Chapter ( No . 23 G ) . —The installation meeting of this chapter , attached to the York Lodge , No . 230 , was held on Wednesday evening , the 21 st ult ., at the Masonic llall , Duncombe-place , when there was a numerous

The lodge having been opened , the minutes ol the previous meeting were teael and confirmed , and the accountsand Auditors ' icport for the past year were received , adopted , and ordered to be entered on the minutes . The chair was occupied by Bro . J . Beresford Ryley , P . M ., P . P . S . G . D ., and Bro . D . Hart Davies , P . M ., presented Bro . H . Saunion , the VV . M . elect , and a Board of installed

Masters was constituted . Bro . Saunion was then installed in a most impressive manner and saluted . The new W . M . then appointed his officers . Bro . H . T . Tallack , I . P . M ., was presented with a handsome jewel which had been voted by the lodge for the services he had rendered , and Bro . Tallack expressed his kind and grateful thanks . Ihe sum of £ s 5 s- was then voted to a distressed brother from

the lodge Benevolent F ' und . Bro . J . Beresford Ryley having announced his intention of accepting a Stewardship at the annual festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in February , l . SgG , a sum ] of £ 5 5 s . was voted from the lodge funds to be placeel on his list . It was also resolved to subscribe ios . per annum to the Charity Committee of the province towards necessary expenses .

I he ledge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to a well served banquet , at wbich thc customary toasts were proposeel and honoured . During the evening a cordial vote of thanks was accorded to Bro . J . Beresford Ryley for the able manner in which he had installed the W . M . whom he had initiated into

Freemason' } ' in this lodge . The thanks of the lodge were also give-n to Bro . Harlow and other visitors for the kind assislam e they had rendered during the ceremony . GUERNSEY . Doyle ' s Chapter of Fellowship ( No . S . )) . —Th * installation meeting of this vi : ry excellent chapter took place as is customary on St . George ' s Day . I he new Principals being zealous energetic Masons and extremely popular , a full muster of the companions and many visitors , many of them hailing from Loyalty Chapter ,

No . 243 , had leathered together for this interesting occasion . Comp . J . T . Laine was placed in the first chair ; Comp . T . P . llamel in the second ; and Comp . T . C . Royle in the third . Manv Shropshire brethren may be interested to learn that Comp . Koyle , who is a Past Grand Officer of their province , anel who lias now settled in this island for some years , is still as keen and indefatigable a

supporter of the Craft as he was in days gone by at Shrewsbury . After the installatiem was completed . Comp . Colonel Guvon was appointed and invested as Principal Sojourner , anel Comp . Wilkins , who has for so many years acted as Scribe E ., was re-invested . The installation ceremony was conducted by the Provincial Grand Master , who , at the same time , vacateel the lirst chair , which he had occupied for the

last two yeais . Comp . Stickland , the Senior Past Principal , and to whom the chanter is deeply indebted for his constant and ever ready assistance and support , and who , moreover , is an accomplished ritualist , acted as Director of Ceremonies . Comp . R . F . Gould , who replied for "The Grand Ofiicers , Present and Past , " said that the new office-bearers of the Grand Lodge had been appointed on the previous

evening , and those of them that were Royal Arch Alasons would shortly be placed in corresponding positions in thc Grand Chapter . Among thc latest selections for the highest honours of the Craft were some very notable members of their ancient Society . The new Senior Grand Warden was General Lord Roberts ; the new Junior Grand Warden , Lord Barnard ; one of the Grand Chaplains was a Bishop , and the other a Dean . Members of Parliament were also

largely represented , and among them a well-known Surrey Mason and former Grand Warden of the province , Bro . T . T . Hucknill , Ij . C , M . P ., was a leading figure . Of the new Grand Ollicers , therefore , he ventured to predict that they would be found to amply justify the wisdom the Prince of Wales had displayed in their selection . Bro . Gould

concluded by thanking the Companions for their hospitality , and assuring them that during a lengthened membership ol the Royal Arch Degree , hc had never seen a greater proficiency in thc ceremonial attached to it , than was evinced by thc ofiicers of the Bisley Chapter on the several occasions he had been a visitor at their meetings .

YORK . Zetland Chapter ( No . 23 G ) . —The installation meeting of this chapter , attached to the York Lodge , No . 230 , was held on Wednesday evening , the 21 st ult ., at the Masonic llall , Duncombe-place , when there was a numerous
