Secretary , I intend to offer myself as a candidate for the vacancy which will thus be created . I have been a Mason over 10 years , and am now nearly 34 years of age . I vvas educated at King ' s College School , London , and Sidney Sussex College , Cambridge , and took the

degree of B . A ., in the Mathematical Tripos 1879 , ( M . A . 1885 . ) Shortly after quitting the University , I vvas appointed Mathematical Master in Truro Grammar School , but retired from that position on being called to the Bar in 1881 , since when I have practised up to the present time , and have been engaged in the

compilation of more than one legal work . In Masonry I hold the following positions—Past Grand Steward ( Eng . ); W . M . Tuscan Lodge , No . 14 ; P . M . and Founder West Kent Volunteer Lodge , No . 2041 ; Secretary and Founder Argonauts' Lodge , No . 2243 ; J . Asaph Chapter , No . 1319 ; P . S . George Price

Chapter , No . 2096 . Member of the Board of General Purposes , and Life Governor Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . I have for some years been Hon . Secretary of the Langton Masonic Benevolent Association , through which between ^ 1300 , and ^ 1400 , will in 4 years have been subscribed to the Masonic Charities .

Whilst aware that several Candidates have already been actively engaged in canvassing for support , I have

deemed it to be more in accordance with Masonic principles to wait until the retirement of the present Secretary vvas provisionally agreed upon , before I made my appeal to the Governors . My Masonic rank , as detailed below , has been attained by constant work during the past 12 years in the

We announce with p leasure that Bro . Hedges has succeeded in obtaining the services of Bro . Sir Francis Burdett , Bart ., P . G . M . Middlesex , as Chairman at the 102 nd Anniversary Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls . The announcement is all the

more gratifying from the fact of its being made public while there are still five clear months and upwards to elapse before the Festival will be held , and consequently there will be ample time for the lodges in London and the provinces which intend supporting . the Girls ' School next year to make the necessary arrangements .

We announce with p leasure that Bro . Hedges has succeeded in obtaining the services of Bro . Sir Francis Burdett , Bart ., P . G . M . Middlesex , as Chairman at the 102 nd Anniversary Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls . The announcement is all the

more gratifying from the fact of its being made public while there are still five clear months and upwards to elapse before the Festival will be held , and consequently there will be ample time for the lodges in London and the provinces which intend supporting . the Girls ' School next year to make the necessary arrangements .
